Hey Lord, I got into trouble again. I drew a picture of You with a small man in Your hand and You are looking him in they eye and You have a huge grin on Your face. When I first drew it, I drew a smile and You told me that the smile was too small. I can’t make it big enough because it doesn’t fit on the page. I put a crown on Your head. The man is touching Your face. You look ecstatic. (You are)

People are so conditioned that You look like an English rose with sparkly blue eyes and brown hair. Blue eyes can be a problem when all you are using is a black texta. I’m not making an excuse, if I used colours, I probably would have given You brown eyes anyway. I gave You heavy eyebrows and a big nose. People were offended because I made you look middle eastern. It’s just that it’s amazing that people still want You to have blue eyes in a black and white drawing. The fact of the matter is that every man is made in Your image and whenever I’ve seen Your face in a vision, it has always been non-descript. I could have drawn You to look like anyone, any nationality. Jesus was born in the Middle East, so statistically, He probably didn’t have blue eyes and ivory skin. What He looked like is totally irrelevant. It’s not how you look, it’s what you are. When Gideon asked what Your name was, You said, “Why do you ask, since it is beyond understanding”

I suppose that it is admirable that we want to possess You and want You to look like us, but it is prejudice and an attitude that needs to be dealt with if people get offended if they see an image of You looking like anything else.

I read something funny in the Reader’s Digest, I forget who said it, “I dream of a free world in the future where chickens won’t have to give account for why they want to cross the road.”

My princessy made up a joke when she was 10: Why didn’t the chicken cross the road? Because it was chicken.

Hey Lord, I read in the Reader’s Digest that one of the main causes for sciatica is lax glutamus muscles. In today’s paper, Jenny is talking about all the benefits of exercise (30 mins a day) Decrease blood pressure, cholesterol and weight, decrease depression, diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis and cancer, increase immunity, concentration and sex drive, improve energy, self esteem and muscle tone. Keep us looking and feeling young. The heading is “Exercise the best pill of all”. Well I know that she knows that the gos-pill is the best pill of all, so she was just talking about for the physical body.

Well, now we will all make a new resolution to start an exercise program, have a cup of coffee and get over the impulse.

A Message by George Carlin:The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. Some of you may be wondering what Judge Roy Moore has been doing since he was removed from the bench for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom wall.

The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama . Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama! The judge's poem sums it up quite well.

America the beautiful,or so you used to be.Land of the Pilgrims' pride;I'm glad they'll never see. Babies piled in dumpsters, Abortion on demand,Oh, sweet land of liberty;your house is on the sand. Our children wander aimlessly, poisoned by cocaine choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain From sea to shining sea,our Nation turns away From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown. When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is His throne. We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core, Appointing Godless Judges;who throw reason out the door, Too soft to place a kille rin a well deserved tomb, But brave enough to kill a baby before he leaves the womb. You think that God's not angry, that our land's a moral slum? How much longer will He wait before His judgment comes? How are we to face our God, from Whom we cannot hide? What then is left for us to do,but stem this evil tide? If we who are His children, will humbly turn and pray; Seek His holy face and mend our evil way: Then God will hear from Heaven; and forgive us of our sins, He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within. But, America the Beautiful,If you don't - then you will see, A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from Thee.~~Judge Roy Moore~~

31.7.08

Hey Lord, prophecies.

Other people are the plants in your garden and God causes it to grow as you nurture it and the fruit will show in their lives, not your life.

When the Holy Spirit overflows you, that the power of God is released in your life, and nothing can stop it. God breaks boundaries.

The Holy Spirit is already in you.

Doesn’t matter how it looks on the outside, because God is working on the inside and everything is OK. The frayed edges on your life is not “the you”. What you are in Christ is what you are and you will shine like the stars in the heavens.

Sometimes we have a rough ride because the road is rough, and we get shaken and God strengthens us and the joy of the Lord is our strength.

Remember to put on the garment of praise and daily acknowledge God.

Don’t look to man to solve your problems. Look to God. God will speak through people, but you need to learn the difference between the voice of man and the voice of God spoken through man. God will never contradict the scriptures. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. God is focus and pivotal point in your life.

God transformed us on the inside when we gave our lives to the Lord. We become a new creature.

The favour of the Lord rests on you.

This Pete preaching.

Are you going to do something large and influential in your city? Are you here to win souls etc? Start with a personal relationship with Christ. We have a destiny, purpose. We need to let our character be developed. Live a life of integrity, good levels. It’s easy to live a low, easy life. If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. Because it takes intestinal fortitude to stand. Satan fell from grace. Other things that fell in the Bible, Sodom, the whole of creation in the flood. It’s never easy to take a courageous stand. Go with majority keeps you popular and comfortable and profits you. It takes courage to lay hands on someone or lead someone to the Lord, or tithe.

Gal 5:22. Fruits of Spirit. We need faith and we need a fire in our belly and we need Christ. It’s not all roses. Narrow is the way and few there are that find it, but wide is the way to destruction. Start at v 13, we are called to liberty, but this is not an opportunity for the flesh. We must love and serve each other, but if we bite and devour one another, beware. Walk in the Spirit, so we do not fulfil the lusts of the flesh. We are lead by the Spirit, so are not under law. Not inherit the kingdom of Heaven if we indulge in fleshly activities.

Have you felt like giving up, sometimes? (Longsuffering) We like to skip over this one. We grow in the traumas. 2 Peter 3 God is longsuffering towards people. God cuts us a lot of grace, because He wants us in.

Job did not sin by charging God with wrong when the bad things happened to him. How many times do we react and blame God? We must learn to trust God. Surrender your life to Him. We need to assess, trust and learn from. We are not wrapped up in fairy floss. We are special in God’s sight, but not in anything of ourselves. We are not immune to heart ache or pain. God touches and makes whole. He deals with our offences, and our self-esteem and our hurts. We can’t tell God how to shape us. The way you look and the way you are is how God shaped you. (In His image)

We look to blame others, instead of seeking God’s face. As soon as you shut down hearing from God in this area, it’s all over. Don’t shut your communication down with God. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. If you think God is far away, guess who’s moved? God never leaves you.

Ps 18:2,6. The Lord, my rock, my deliver in whom I trust. Trains my hands to war.

What comes out under pressure? That’s who you are, that’s what’s inside you.

When you are squeezed, does the essence of Christ come out? We are all a work in progress.

People listen to what you do, not what you say.

Keep the relationship strong. People stop coming to church or isolate themselves when there is a problem. That’s playing into the enemy’s hands. When someone stops coming to church, it didn’t start that day, it’s been festering.

Prayer. Phil 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, let requests known, peace passes understanding will guard your heart and mind.

Spend time in word of God. Bible becomes written on your heart. A scripture comes to you in a time of need. Word of God is quick and powerful. Brings faith, power, courage.

Stay focused on God. Not the problem. God is bigger than the problem.

Learn from the problem. If you don’t, you will go around the mountain and go through it all again. Learn from other people’s mistakes. And you become a bigger person.

A problem is an opportunity. Look at Joseph. Problems improve our integrity. Problems expose the integrity of your heart. They expose our fruit. Problems produce a dependence on God.

Pete again.

Luke 6:46 Why do you call me “Lord” and do not do what I say? Would you get up in the middle of the night to watch the football? Would you get up in the middle of the night to pray? Do you practice football? Do you practice the presence of the presence of God? Is it a tragedy if you lose or break your football? Is it a tragedy if you miss your time with God, or lose your Bible? Do you like to hang around your friends who talk about football, do you like to hang around your friends who like to talk about God? We get caught up with whatever we think is most important, and we become like it. Why do we say God is important and not pursue Him? This verse is critical to Christian living.

V 47 show you what it is like if you don’t put into practice, - like a man who builds house without foundation. (Jesus is the foundation)

Ps 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Do we rise up to our calling? Do we pursue something else that will somehow profit us. Jesus came to do the will of the Father. What can you do for God? Are you excited about what God wants you to do tomorrow? You can change your world. It is most important to change it in the right way. What do you spend your time doing? Joel 3:14 – there are many in the valley of decision. It’s a big thing to actually make a decision, because it causes a turning point in your life. It will be tested and challenged, if it is a big decision. Daniel decided to pray every day at certain times and he was tested. How tightly do you hold on to your values? What’s if something drastic happened, like someone died or you lost a leg, what do you hold onto? What is important to you? Three things that bring back from the brink of an irrelevant Christianity. 1. Journaling. – what you pray and think about and how you feel. 2. Pray – spend time talking to God. Thank God. 3. Spend time alone. Pursue the discipline. Train to become what you want to be, what you adore, what you worship. Look at what and who you are now, what are you good at – being sarcastic? Being critical? Do you value that? Do you think about what you are saying? Do you value saying nice things to people? Do people want to be around you? If people are being closed towards you or sarcastic to you, maybe you are not a nice person. If you value cars, you will have a nice car and look after it. Take time to reflect on what you are and what your goals are.

God wears clothes, He is clothed in majesty, honour, strength, beauty. Rev 1 He took on a human body. Now He is clothed in a resurrected body. God clothed man. We are an inspiration to angels, they envy us, because of the great things that God has called us to do. Who dares wins. (SAS motto) We are inspired even by a uniform because it represents something. A logo represents something.

What does God want us to clothe ourselves in? God wants us to do things that we won’t get recognized for, to do exploits and we need to clothe ourselves for the work. We need to clothe ourselves daily. If we clothe ourselves with the things God desires, it will change our future.

Adam and Eve were clothed with the glory of God. God clothed them with the skin of an animal. The blood covered their sin. The skin covered their shame.

You can’t just choose what you want to cover yourself with, when you come to God. Cain’s sacrifice was not acceptable.

Col 3:14: Over all these things, put on love.

Eph 6:13: Full armour of God, stand your ground, Breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth, feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, sword of the Spirit (word of God.)

Helmet guards mind. Your mind can play tricks on you. Pronounce salvation over yourself. If you want to be an overcomer, you have to find the treasures of the scriptures. Breastplate is defense. A place of longing for righteousness. A place where you feel very connected to God. You could break into song at any time. Hold your relationship with God close to you, otherwise you get offended easily and it eats away in you.

Belt of truth: in Roman times, belt held up their skirt. Belt holds sword. Not just knowing right and wrong, but accepting right and wrong, and being able to repel lies. It is critically important to how you see yourself. If you want to retain your primary weapon in life, you must learn to reject lies. Truth sets you free.

Shoes of gospel: allows you to get closer, but is not the weapon. You must walk in good news. If you get rejected because you told good news, don’t accept the rejection, it’s a lie. You have good news. Tomorrow is not something to fear, you go with the confidence of the good news.

Shield of faith. Makes redundant the arrows of the enemy. Defense mechanism, because it responds to a word or situation.

Sword for attacking, rendering useless, destroying. You are meant to cut down certain things in your world. Penetrates to core. Speak with words that have force and power. He says fruit of Spirit are manifestations of sword. Bible says word of God is sword of Spirit.

We put on clothing that is not from God, for our own security and we put on things that are hidden. Emotional hurts, baggage, words that are daggers we hold onto. We are naked before God.

Outer garments, confidence, pride, natural gifts and talents.

Salvation and righteousness, (robe – Revelations.)

We are hard pressed, but not crushed, etc.

You alone have choices in what you clothe yourself with daily. Rev 3:4,5 People of Sardis walked in white robes, not soiled.

Tony

Col 3:1-3 you have been raised with Christ, so set your minds on things above.

Colossians were religious, but the Christianity was layered with other modern thinking. Focus on setting your hearts on the things that are above. (forward direction, not focusing on past)

Ps 37:4 delight yourself in the Lord and He will give desires of your heart. What you desire is what you will get. Choose carefully what you will desire. Prov 3:5-7 (He’s showing his age now, he’s talking about David Meece) Trust in the Lord ….. make your paths straight. Our heart is connected to our footsteps. Straight roads don’t weave around the mountain, it goes through the valleys and over the mountains. Greatness is about going through difficult times and achieving mountain tops. World weaves and misses valleys and mountain tops. Matt 12:34 out of overflow of heart, the mouth speaks. Speech is mirror to soul and heart. Listen to what you say, reflect on what you say. Listen to what other people are saying, so you can know their heart. Your words have power. So what words would you like to speak? You need to be renewed in heart first. Eternity is in our hearts, so words need to be life. Isa 26:3 Keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast in You. James talks about double-minded man who can’t make up his mind. An out of control fire is a powerful thing, so you will have mayhem. Tongue sets the course of who you are and where you are going. Perfect peace is uninterrupted peace – doesn’t depend on circumstances.

Acts 4:32 All believers one in heart and mind. Mind is connected with purposes that you surround yourself with. Unity is powerful thing. Decision to unity, not division. We still need correction. Rom 12:2 Do not conform, be transformed by renewing of mind. Allow yourself to be transformed. As our minds are renewed, we get the ability to test and approve what is right and wrong. We died and are hidden in Christ. To die: ceased to live, expired, lost vital force, ceased to function, breakdown. Our sinful nature has ceased to live.

9.8.08

Hey Lord, Jenny wrote in the paper about macular degeneration. She said it doesn’t happen in primitive cultures because they do lots of exercise. It’s amazing what doing exercise does for the whole body, lots of stuff you wouldn’t expect. I need a fitness fanatic friend, because I’m too slack in this.

I got this A Few Good Men brochure again. There’s a story about a boy who brought a make yourself car at home and everyone else’s dad helped them, but his dad didn’t want to, so the mum had to help him. Then at the race of the cars, everyone else had their dad or granddad or someone and he only had his mum. The other cars all looked sleek in design and paintwork and his was wonky and he got into the finals and he asked for time to pray. He ended up winning with his Father inside him, but he hadn’t prayed to win. He said that it would have been unfair. He asked for strength to face the outcome (to not cry at the end). We spend too much time praying for an easy life, for someone else to lose so we can win or to remove the struggle from our lives.

Jim talked about how men want everything to be right and get so disillusioned when they fail at anything. Everyone makes mistakes and sometimes the consequences are devastating. Instead of expecting perfection, do your best.

Then he told a story about everyone arriving at church and there was a raggedy hobo lying on the steps and everyone looked and whispered and walked past. Then when the service started the hobo came into the church and walked up to the front and took off his hat and coat and it was their preacher! Then they sang a song “If I can help somebody as I pass along. If I can cheer somebody with a word or song. If I can show somebody that he’s traveling wrong, then my living shall not be in vain.”

And he’s got this story about what real men are, and how TV portrays men to be selfish and childish like Ted Bundy who started as a joke and is now the norm. Boys grow up seeing that men are people who chase women, get drunk and are self-centered. They behave like five-year olds throwing temper tantrums when they don’t get their own way. He talks about how real love doesn’t act like that and Paul talks about how when we were children we reasoned and acted like children, but when we grow up, we put away childish things. 1 Cor 13 gets a big mention about how character should be formed in a mature person. It takes commitment to Christ to become a man and take responsibility for home, church and work. People can see if you are a boy or a man, people show their character.

And there was a testimony from a guy who gave his life to the Lord, then went to missionary work, then when he came back, some rotten things happened, his father and his son died then he re-evaluated his life and his priorities. (After that, his wife died also) But the point is that we all take life for granted until we get smacked in the face by it and sometimes the damage from the things we could have done differently are not repairable.

13.8.08

Hey Lord, I read this book: Miracles from the Dust by John Mellor and he’s a COC pastor and just prays and fasts and the miracles just flow – you know the score – cancer, cripples, blind etc, etc, etc. He had lots of very hard times too, persecution and his wife left him and his second marriage was a disaster also. Anyone with a big calling goes through very hard times, not because the devil has so much power but because, well, yes, he is annoyed, but You use him to refine and grow us. Thanks for that.

18.8.08

Hey Lord, do You know you can give a Bible to a Muslim-background believer by sending money to Open Doors Australia P O Box 53, Seaforth NSW 2092. http://www.opendoors.org.au/ Well, Lord, Your word is so exciting.

Bob Gass (the Word For Today magazine, co-authored by Debby) is talking about teaching our children Your word. Deut 11:19:21. He talks about the importance of keeping our own lives scriptural, with You as the head, and when we cross over the distinct roles that You have given us, it is confusing for the children. We must also set a good example in our own lives, what we watch on TV and let our kids watch, and movies and music.

Now he’s talking about Pr 18:16 about a man’s gift making a way for him, I only saw this as a physical gift (a present), but he’s talking about our talents and getting noticed and being able to use our gifts for You. Stephen King says that talented people are separated from the successful ones by a lot of hard work. Follow Nehemiah’s footsteps – he built the wall in under two months. He applied himself to the task and kept his life honorable. Jos 1:5 – God will never forsake us. We need to take the first step of faith – God gave Joshua every place his foot trod on. We have to trust God regardless. In “High Maintenance Relationships”, Les Parrott talks about the types of people who will oppose you: Critics who constantly complain or give unwanted advice. Martyrs who are forever the victim and wracked with self-pity, wet blankets who are pessimistic and habitually negative, steamrollers who are blindly insensitive to others, gossips who spread rumours and leak secrets, control freaks who are unable to let go and let things be, back-stabbers who are two-faced, green-eyed monsters who seethe with envy, volcanoes who build steam and are always ready to erupt, sponges who are always needy and never give anything back and competitors who always keep track of tit-for-tat.

Successful people are passionate. What do you pray about, cry about? Dream about? What will you risk everything for? That is the well from which you draw your strength and nothing feels too big or too small.

You need to get ready, to know where you are going and keep your spiritual values, otherwise you are a slave to your surroundings.

Hey, look at that, Lord, you can get people to pray for you. PrayForMe.com.au

God gave His laws to govern, guide and guard us, because He wants us to be successful. Your character is more important than your career.

Now he’s talking about divine protection (Ps 91:14), he told a story about how all the choir members were late for different reasons, though they were all usually punctual. There was a gas leak and an explosion right under where the empty choir seats were. I don’t get upset anymore when my plans are squiffed. I am used to God intervening in my situations and even though it stuffs up my plans, it always turns out for the better.

Lord, do You know you can listen to vision radio anywhere in the world? http://www.vision.org.au/

‘sincere’ comes from a Latin word meaning ‘without wax’, originally Greek word meaning ‘sun-tested’ because porcelain would sometimes show tiny cracks after firing and wax would cover it, (except under the light of the sun) so honest merchants marked their wares sine cera – without wax. No sham, no hypocrisy, no hidden cracks to be covered over. We can live this way by keeping our eyes on Christ, not other Christians. Whatever we do, it is because Christ’s love controls us. 2 Cor 5:14 (Living Bible)

Jesus had what society called an illegitimate birth, he was born into a hated minority who experienced brutal oppression, the religious leaders branded Him a heretic, the state called Him an insurrectionist too dangerous to live, his was betrayed by his friend, sentenced without a fair trial and died like a common criminal and his response was ‘be of good cheer; I have overcome the world’ (Jn 16:33) We spend too much time crying over spilt milk, stop wasting your energy on things that cannot be changed. The past is over. Look forward. Press on! God’s plans for us are good. (Jer 29:11)

Don’t despise being alone. We need to be alone with God, Jesus often withdrew to be alone and everyone else had experiences with God when they were alone, Jacob wrestled with God, Moses went up the mountain alone, Daniel had visions, Elijah stood and watched God pass by and Jeremiah wrote that he sat alone because Your hand was on him. Jer 15:17.

Don’t run away from trials, God knows where to find you! You have to learn the lessons. Paul said it was to keep from becoming conceited (2 Cor 12:7) and that Christ’s power may rest on me (2 Cor 12:9)

Now he’s talking about the need to die to self every day and the further you want to go in ministry, the more of a servant you need to be, and God will let you keep an impediment because it keeps you reliant in Him.

Now, he’s talking about how friends betray us and God lets people into our lives who will hurt us (eg Judas) (Jn 13:18) God gives us grace to re-evaluate the situation and realize that God is in control, and will allow your Judas to go so far and no further. He governs how much damage others can do to you, so that lessens the fear of getting involved again once you’ve been burnt. Ps 119:71 – it was good for me to be afflicted, so that I might learn Your decrees. NIV

Now he’s talking about running from temptations (2 Tim 2:22), when you see a situation where you know you are weak, don’t stick around to see how strong you are, don’t try to counsel or convert, don’t give in just once. Be aware of your danger and run. (Jas 1:13-15) God is your safe refuge, where your enemies can’t reach you. (Ps 61:3)

Talented people can become know-alls and stop growing because they become unteachable. We need a hunger to grow, to learn, willingness to unlearn and relearn.

When Paul was incarcerated and expecting execution, he asked Timothy to bring writing paper because he had something to say and his books because he had stuff to learn. (2 Tim 4:13) Learning is not a stage of life, it’s a way of life, otherwise we stop growing.

David was tested in three places:

At home (Bethlehem), he learned responsibility, service to family, developed his relationship with God, overcome resentment because of God’s favour on his life.

Cave of Adullam, self service to misfits and rejects even when his own life was under attack, a place where our kingdom dies and God’s kingdom is showcased through us. God deals with self-seeking, self-serving motives in our hearts. Some people never make it out of this cave.

Mt. Hermon (means ‘covenant’) – it was the highest mountain in Israel and has no easy roads to the top. Loyalty regardless of circumstances, truthfulness regardless of cost, forgiveness regardless of pain.

Sometimes, we develop a ‘sense of entitlement’ when people give us lots of things because we serve God, but sometimes, people order things they can’t afford and leave others holding the bag. They say it’s a step of faith, but Christians get a bad name from this. Christians should be known for paying their bills on time. Rom 13:7

Without restraint, our life is like a car without brakes. Whatever we choose to obey is our master. Life on earth is really nothing more than a string of moments, one after another. And I do not want my testimony for Jesus Christ to be shattered by a single moment of indulging my flesh. I don’t want one moment of rage or pride or lust to cast a shadow over a lifetime of walking with my Lord. Frankly, I fear that possibility. And do you know what? I want to fear that possibility. When I stop fearing it, I’m in grave danger.

Do You know, Lord, that you can read a daily devotional via email from http://www.thewordfortoday.com.au/. And they have one specially for 15-25 yr olds: http://www.word4u2day.com.au/. self-control is better than conquering a city Pr 16:32. What we do on some great occasion depends on what we already are, and what we are is the result of previous years of self-discipline.

Phil 1:6 Being confident that Jesus will carry the good work He started in us to completion.

A professor wrote to 250 philosophers, scientists, writers and intellectuals asking the what the meaning of life was. Some had a guess, some made something up, some said they had no idea and some asked him to tell them if he found out. The answer is in the Bible.

Keep your integrity. If you are shallow, the real you will shine through. The integrity of the upright guides them. Pr 11:3

God’s patience is amazing! He even gave Jezebel time to repent and when her wicked husband Ahab repented, God healed and restored him. Jas 4:10 says to humble yourself in God’s sight. Don’t wait for Him to do it. God’s correction is not rejection, so don’t lose heart when He corrects you.

We rarely discern others accurately. Our conclusions are flawed and based on limited knowledge. Someone close to you has a great future – God has already determined it. If you knew their potential, you would withhold your words of criticism and invest more time and energy into them. Remember Joseph? The person who aggravates the living daylights out of you today, could be the one you turn to for help tomorrow. Keep that in mind and treat them graciously. Look at Ruth – a gleaner in the field one day and the boss’ wife the next and Mary looking for a place to stay and Paul persecuting the church who still brings multitudes into the church. Lk 1:39 – blessed is she who believed that the Lord’s word would be accomplished. Don’t let your past paralyze you. God is greater than any situation. One of the biggest mistakes we make is to compare ourselves with other people and since we don’t have their talents, we ‘just don’t have what it takes’. God said to Moses – What is that in your hand.

Then there’s the joke about two nuns who ran out of petrol near a petrol station, and they didn’t have a petrol decanter, so they used a bed pan they had in the car. Two guys drove past and commented on their faith and were amazed when the nuns sped past them a couple of minutes later!

Intimacy with God doesn’t take place overnight. Phil 3:10 Paul said that his determined purpose is to know Him (Amplified Bible: become progressively and more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly) Do we pursue God like that? Or when we worship, is our brain elsewhere? Or are we so critical, we sound like an unbeliever?

We become more selfish and susceptible to temptation when we look at the world instead of at God’s Word. 2 Sam 22:2,3

Did God give you a dream? Eph 3:20 – He can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.

Lessons from Joseph: That when God wants you in a palace, nobody can keep you in a pit, that your future is not in the hands of others, it’s in the hands of God and that your assignment doesn’t require the cooperation of everyone else, but it doesn’t require the cooperation of you. Instead of blaming others, see the hand of God in every situation.

Sometimes God says no. Sometimes we are not ready. The prodigal son said “I will arise and go to my father and say ‘I have sinned.’ ” Lk 15:18. Everyone falls. Falling doesn’t make you a loser, it makes you a contestant.

We need to ask God His plan and then do it, and He will enable us as we move out. We need to stop compartmentalizing our lives and giving God some when we feel like it, but remember that the Holy Spirit is with us all the time, not coming and going at our beck and call. Moving with God doesn’t mean a meandering stroll, it means to stay in step and catch the beat of the Holy Spirit, to act when He acts, to pause when He pauses. His timing is perfect.

Well, I didn’t know that, Lord, when the Titanic sank, there was a ship within 15k of it, not realizing that the flashing lights were a distress signal and not receiving the calls for help on the radio, because their radio operator was fast asleep. (Are we angry with the radio operator? Do we pray for and witness to our friends who we are watching on their merry way to hell?)

Trusting God doesn’t mean blowing your budget then trusting God for your finances, or trusting Him for your health then living a decedant life. Trusting God for a job, doesn’t mean sitting back. That’s presumption, not taking responsibility. We should make plans, counting on God to direct us. Pr 16:9 (TLB)

Don’t get agitated over every little thing. There is nothing you can do about those things, so let go and keep your joy. When you put as much energy into letting go as you do into steaming, you will find God’s peace.

If you want help overcoming a problem, pray the word, because God watches over it to perform it. (Jer 1:12) Stand on the word and thank God for the victory in the situation. If you can’t control your spending, perform plastic surgery – cut up your credit cards. Give more – this helps conquer greed. Expect disapproval. Decide how you will handle it. If you only do things nobody finds fault with, you’ll never accomplish anything.

At Calvary, Jesus stood between God’s anger and the punishment for our sins. Having lived the life we couldn’t live, then taking the punishment we couldn’t escape, He freely offers us redemption we couldn’t afford. Now the question is: If He so loved us, can we not love each other? Having been forgiven, can we not forgive? Having feasted at the table of mercy, can we not share a few crumbs?

Jesus told his captors that He only had to call on His Father and He would have sent thousands of angels, but that the scriptures had to be fulfilled. It wasn’t the angry mob, or the hand holding the hammer or a guilty verdict that crucified Him. Had the soldier hesitated, Jesus Himself would have swung the mallet. That’s how much He loves you.

One day Henry Beecher went to his church to preach. There was a note on the pulpit with the word ‘fool’ in large letters. He said that sometimes he received letters where the person forgot to sign his name, but this time, someone signed their name but forgot to write the letter. How will you handle offences when they come? You will be unjustly criticized, forget it and move on. If the criticism is just, pray about it and work on it.

Working on problems with your partner doesn’t mean they will become perfect. Learn to change the things that can be changed and live with the rest. Love is not rude, self-seeking, easily angered and keeps no records. New habits and ways of thinking do not happen in one day.

Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Pr 12:18. NIV

The three stages of reading the Bible:

Castor oil stage: we study it because we know it’s good for us, but it’s not too enjoyable.

The Cereal stage: it is dry and uninteresting, but we know its nourishing

The peaches and cream stage: we are really feasting on the Word of God.

Self-serving people regard their talents and resources as something they own. Serving people see themselves as executors of God’s estate; they know they don’t own it, they just administer it for Him.

Hey Lord, Pastor J said something today. I am more aggressive than her. She prays that people have the opportunity to accept You before they die. I pray that they don’t die until they receive You. I pray for them to be brought to their knees, and that their eyes be opened and that they are drawn inextricably and irresistibly towards You. I pray that the Holy Spirit is poured down upon them and that Your hand is heavy on them, that their souls are stirred until they meet the Prince of Peace. I take authority over the devil that he can’t put a veil over their eyes or ears or let attitudes stop them from accepting You.

Tim preached today. Grace is the empowering presence of God. Because God poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Phil 2:13 – God gives us strength.

Message of gospel is not just to receive forgiveness, it’s a transformed life.

We must continually choose LIFE.

1 Cor 6:12 Everything is permissible, not beneficial. ‘meant’ – another word is ‘intended’

Heb 4:16 come boldly into throne of grace. God will help us.

We need to administer grace to each other. (since none of us are perfect)

As spiritual head of the house, when there is unrest in the family, it is often because the father has let holes come in the spiritual umbrella of grace over the family. Blessings of forefathers travel 1,000 generations. (deut 5:10)

Healed of Cancer by Dodie Osteen.

Ps 30:2,3 O Lord, I pleaded with You and You gave me my health again. You brought me back from the brink of death, from the grave itself, and here I am alive! (TLB) That means she is using the Living Bible, which is a paraphrase and not as accurate, but it is very good for new Christians because it is easy to understand. And some verses are just better illuminated.

The word of God is our hope. Hos 4:6 my people perish for lack of knowledge.

Ps 75:1 says that we thank the Lord, because His mighty miracles prove that He cares.

Heb 11:1 says that hope is the substance of things hoped for.

Ps 118:17 says that God wants you to live to declare His works.

Learn not to say idle words. She used to say she was disgustingly healthy, which was a bad confession and she took her life for granted. Now she appreciates every day as a gift. Be grateful for your life and your health, because God gives it to you.

The doctors gave her a few weeks to live with or without chemo, so she went home to pray. She does not advocate no chemo, but it wasn’t going to help her. She had lots of people praying for her, but God told her it was her own faith that would get her healed.

Matt 18:19 is about two or three agreeing and it shall be done.

They took authority over the cancer and she believed that she was healed from that moment on, and acted healed even though she still felt sick and had all the symptoms.

She examined her conscience and dealt with everyone that she held offence against and asked for forgiveness of everyone she may have offended. Isa 43:25,26 says that He blots out our transgressions and doesn’t remember our sins, and to come before Him to state our case so we may be acquitted. She put pictures of her in her health around her bed, so she could see herself that way. She also went out to pray for others, James 5:16 says pray for others, that you may be healed. Luke 6:38 says to give and it will be given to you. If you just let your mind dwell on yourself, it gets you down.

Heb 10:23 says to hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, because He who promised is faithful. Her brain wavered and it made her feel condemned, but in her heart she didn’t waver. Resist the thoughts of the devil and he will flee from you.

She felt fearful sometimes and the devil sticks the boot in and said she is going to die, but she refuted him with the word of God. Ps 91:16 – long life and salvation.

1 Peter 2:24 – By His stripes I am healed.

Phil 2:13 God works in me to will and to do for His good pleasure.

The devil says, see it’s not helping quoting the scripture.

Do not be critical of other people – you have not been in their shoes and you don’t know what they are going through.

It IS God’s will for you to be well, not sick. God did not put that sickness on you. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came to give abundant life (Jn 10:10)

That verse says ‘might’ have life – you have a choice. (Life and death are in the power of the tongue)

Her husband and children would come to her every day and say “You are healed”

Sometimes she cried and hurt, but her husband stood by her and prayed for her and encouraged her with the word.

Ps 105:37 He brought them forth with gold and there was no one feeble among them.

Her family continually treated her as if she were well. When she asked them to do something for her, they encouraged her to do it herself. It stopped her from going into a pity party for herself.

When a pity session tries to start on you, speak the word over your life and command your body to come into line with it. People ask her if she has been back to the doctor to confirm her healing by getting the tests re-done. Hello! She was given a few weeks in 1981 and she is still healthy.

Heb 13:8 Jesus is the same . Nah 1:7 The LORD is good, a stronghold and He knows those who trust Him.

Prov 4:20-22 – Keep the word in your eyes and your heart because they are life and health.

Don’t get angry with God. Don’t give up the fight. God wants you well.

Jer 30:17 – He will restore our health and heal our wounds.

When people asked how she was, she just said “I am blessed of the Lord”

Your immune system will work with you if you are a fighter. 1 Pet 5:7 – casting all our cares on Him.

You need to give your life to the Lord, then trust His word.

Jos 21:45 – not one word of the Lord failed.

Rom 8:11 – He raised Christ from the dead and will give life to our mortal bodies.

Matt 8:2,3 – He is willing.

Ex 15:26 – He will not put on you any of the diseases.

Heb 11:6 – He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

Ex 23:25 – He will bless our bread and water and take sickness away. (If we serve Him)

Deut 7:15 – He will take away all sickness.

Mal 3:10 – Obey all God’s commands and receive His blessings.

Ps 103:1-5 Heals all your diseases, redeems your life from the pit, crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, satisfies your mouth with good things so your youth is renewed like the eagles.

Ps 107:20 – He sent His word and healed them.

Deut 30:19 – set before you life and death – choose life.

Ps 91:16 – long life.

Isa 53:5 – He bore our sicknesses, by His stripes we were healed.

Jer 30:17 – God will restore your health.

Matt 18:18 – Command whatever on earth.

Matt 18:19 – two or three agree.

Mk 11:22-23 speak to the mountain.

Mk 11:24 – believe and receive.

It took months and months of believing before she felt healed and lots of times she felt as though she were going to die, but she quoted the word and held on.

Prov 6:2 – snared by the words of our mouth.

Mk 16:17,18 Lay hands on the sick and they shall recover

Jn 9:31 – Worship and God will hear you.

Gal 3:13,14 Redeemed from the curse.

Heb 10:23 – not waver because He who promised is faithful.

Heb 10:35 Your confidence has great reward.

Joel 3:10 Let the weak say ‘I am strong”

Isa 27:5 – Let him take hold of My strength.

3 Jn v 2 – Prosper and be in health

James 5:14,15 – be anointed with oil by a believer.

1 Jn 15:14,15 – we know He hears us and answers us.

1 Jn 3:21,22 If our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence and whatever we ask, we receive.

2 Tim 1:7 God has not given us a spirit of fear, so rebuke it.

2 Cor 10:4,5 – casting down imaginations. (fear) Tell your thoughts to line up with the word of God.

Eph 6:10-13 Be strong in the Lord and put on His armour.

Rev 12:11 overcame by blood of lamb and word of testimony. Testify.

You are His chosen vessel, so don’t take the healing and run. Give your life 100% to Him.

Nah 1:9 Sickness will not come upon you a second time.

Hey Lord, look at all the nasty things smoking does to your skin, because they contain nicotine, carbon monoxide, tar and lead: - reduce blood flow to the skin, reduce circulating oxygen and break down the skin’s collagen and elastin (so you look old and ugly). Also reduces the water content of the skin’s outer layer, and increases risk of psoriasis, skin cancers and hair loss. And, do you know what green tea does? Prevents cancer and shrinks tumors, they gave it to mice who had breast cancer and after 5 weeks, the tumors were 66% smaller than the mice who just had water. Green tea tastes disgusting, Lord, but you can get the peppermint one and put honey in it, I drink it all the time. (Green tea has the same caffeine as normal tea – about the same as coffee)

17.12.08

Hey Lord,

You answered a prayer and I didn’t even pray. You are amazing. The lock on my car door went squiff and one day I came home from work and the people from the lock shop that I go to were parked outside my flat in my car park (tradespeople have an inalienable right to do that, it comes with ostrich syndrome that this won’t put anyone out and that the house owner can in fact be the one who has to walk further). I happened to be going out at the same time they were leaving from doing a job next door and thought I’d ask what the damage would be for repairs. The guy fixed it for free on the spot! Thanks for that – how many people get a house call for free for something they didn’t even pray about?

(This is ignoring the fact I read in a book about myth-busting that ostriches do not actually bury their heads in the sand, they rest their heads on the sand and because their head is the same colour, it looks like it is gone. They also pointed out that “Beam me up, Scotty” was never actually uttered, they shouldn’t have said that, because that’s like sticking a pin in the childhood bubble, tantamount to telling them that Santa doesn’t exist!!!)

God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body!

God's Pharmacy! Amazing!

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries

Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

This is a ch__ch. What is missing?

And, do You know what I read in RD, Lord? Feverfew (which looks like a daisy and is all over the world) has parthendide derivative in it which kills leukaemia at the stem-cell level, they are trying to make it into a digestible drug. (There are things on the net for consuming it, don’t know about that though) Apparently you can buy it in tablet form from the heath shop. And in Botany Bay (Sydney), they found that algae did not grow on the bottom of the boats, so they found a seaweed (Delisea pulchra) was the culprit and did tests and found that it has a compound called furanones which kills golden staph and tuberculosis.

Ps Danny Nahlia

Do you really want to see God move in your city? Do you need to get out of church right on time and get annoyed if the service goes overtime? Do we need a drive through Church service? Is your house a barbeque for all nations? No our house is a house of prayer for all nations! Prayer is the key for revival. Why is prayer the least promoted, advertised and financed thing in the church? 70% turn up for the church BBQ and 7% turn up for prayer meeting. We need to tell people what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. We are here to make disciples and prepare people to meet Jesus. We have made the church a business place. The blood of the people is on our hands. We are too afraid of offending people. Do you really love the nation? It means sacrifice.

When your back yard is in a mess, why are you running around seeking the lost. Bring prayer and repentance over the nation. The darkness is strong, and the people are not praying. Rise up prayer meetings. Pray for the nation. It’s time to take Jesus to the streets. This is a time for revival. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Jesus. Theology does not take you anywhere, the Spirit of God comes with power, don’t just preach the word, but live it. What is the use of coming to church is it is the same old? We need a supernatural release of the power of the Holy Ghost. The biggest problem is the church is not hearing from God, because they don’t pray or read the word, even most pastors only pray for 15 minutes a day. (What a disgrace) 95% of Christians don’t pray for more than 3 minutes a day.

Ignore it and it will pass by is a weakness, not kindness - it will grow up to be a monster. The word of God is the only way to see a victory. Let yourself be fired up and be inspired, if you don’t have input, you won’t get output.

Pray and read the word, pray and read the word. Praise God.

Get his books “Worship Under the Sword” and DVD’s. A man was raised from the dead in Parliament House in Canberra in 22 October. Cardiac arrest during the prayer meeting for rain. Two doctors were there, and there was no heart beat for 20 minutes, when Ps prayed, the man came back to life. He is a pastor now in Sydney. The Lord told him while he was in heaven that the Australian church is built on sand and that God is very disappointed and that the church is not ready for His soon coming return.

Daniel prayed and was thrown into the lion’s pit, and there was a revival.

God needs to know that He can trust you with what He is giving you, - you will be tested. Jesus is passing by, will we call out? Daniel was a man of prayer, and as a result, they were empowered and strengthened. Challenge is coming. We must pray, otherwise we not stand. Whether you choose to believe it or not, we are in a war, and we wear the uniform, and if you don’t want to shoot, you will die. You had better get training and read the word of God. Equip your arsenal with the best weapons.

Forget conferences, get on your knees in your bedroom and start praying.

Stop living on someone else’s testimony, get your own. Get into the presence of God and start telling people about Jesus. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Have you told anyone that Jesus loved them in the last 3 months? In the last year have your led anyone to the Lord? Have you prayed with/for anyone in the last 6 months? If you fail this test, we need to get our act together. Do we weep over the Christian divorces and the youth suicides. The divorce rate in Christian families where there is not family prayer is one in two, but in the families where they pray together, it’s one in 10,000. Do not let this revival pass by. Why don’t we pray in tongues in the church? (Because people get offended) Let’s let the Spirit of God move in the church. We have become so user friendly, we have kicked out the Spirit of God. The depth of worship determines strength of anointing. Political correctness is the biggest hindrance in the church. Let’s do it God’s way, and set the captives free.

The Skeptic’s Guide to God. By David Heenan

Whether or not God exists must be answered for everyone. It changes our values, the way we live and whether or not things are right or wrong. If we are just evolved pond scum, then who is to say what is right or wrong? If God doesn’t exist, then we may as well eat, drink and be merry because there are no repercussions or absolutes. If He does exist, why did He create us? What is He like? Does He care about us? Will He communicate with us? Is there something deeper to life? Sheer intellectual curiosity? A supernatural event? A need that requires a greater help?

An influential exponent of evolution in early days was Aldous Huxley. He had an underlying motive for professing belief in evolution. In an article entitled “Confession of a Professed Atheist”..”I had motives for not wanting the world to have meaning…. The philosophy of meaningless was essentially an instrument of liberation…. Liberation from a certain political and economic system, and liberation from a certain system of morality. We objected to the morality because it interfered with our sexual freedom.”

Approximately 10,000 scientists in the US believe in a creator. The expanding universe proves that there was a beginning. Also within the DNA double helix, the design is so complicated that it requires a creator. Evolutionist Professor of Geology David Kitts said that “Evolution requires intermediate forms between species and paleontology does not provide them”

Rocks from the Cambrian Period (supposedly about 600 million years old ) have been found to have fully formed creatures in them, such as sponges, sea urchins, and swimming crustaceans etc. Piltdown Man (one of the missing links) was found to be a hoax and was a human skull married to an orangutan’s jaw. Many scientists are prepared to bury the truth in order to support their own philosophical stance.

Darwin’s imagined warm little pond with all sorts of ammonia and phosphoric salts, light, heat, electricity etc, causing a protein compound chemically forming into a complex change could not have happened. Scientists now know that there is no such thing as a simple blob, even the simplest bacteria have genomes consisting of approximately one million codons, and each codon, or genetic word consists of three letters from a four-letter alphabet. If the DNA of one human cell were unraveled and held in a straight line it would be almost one metre long. Then there would also have to be RNA and proteins present for life to exist and this requires at least 75 different protein molecules, and they all have to be synthesized by the process in which they themselves are involved. The chance of evolution happening is the same as that of a tornado going through a junk yard and assembling a working Jumbo Jet.

He talks about how complex birds and flight are and how a less evolved form could not survive. And about several other creatures which could never have survived in a semi developed state.

When a human eye starts to develop, it begins growing a million microscopic optic nerves simultaneously from the optic centre of the brain and from the eye. Each one of these one million optic nerves must find and match up to it’s precise mate to enable vision to function perfectly. The retina (thinner than paper) contains 137 million light-sensitive cells, which perform up to ten billion calculations per second in determining the nature of the image transmitted to the eye by light photons. To mimic the retina, you would need a computer chip that weighed at least 100 pounds. How could this evolve, when any uncompleted one would not work at all? Charles Darwin even admitted that the whole thing was so complex that for natural selection to work here, it would be “absurd in the highest degree”.

Our food and drink would be deadly to us if the liver were not fully functioning. He also goes on about the brain and heart.

Human bodies alone present more than sufficient evidence of a Designer to any fair minded observer.

Then he talks about the delicate balance of synchronized forces that are needed to support life on the earth, perfect distance from the sun, the gravitational pull of the moon, the perfect axis of the earth, the magnetic field, the presence of water and how it affects the earth, gravity, electromagnetism and the ways that all these things interact.

Then he talks about the universe. The Hubble telescope has observed over 3,000 galaxies but scientists believe there could be as many as 500 billion!

Famous astrophysicist Stephen Hawking says that Christians would need to answer “Who created God?” Astrophysicist Hugh Ross says that people fall into the trap of presuming that God is bound by the laws of science and time that bind us. He wrote a book called The Creator and the Cosmos explaining how the intricately designed the universe is and could not have happened without a Creator.

Then he quoted some scientists who say that there must be a Creator.

Then he talks about Ivan Panin and the numeric system throughout the Bible.

He talks about the Bible directing medical procedures for example using Hyssop oil for purification whenever they touched a dead body, and now we know that this contains 50% carvacrol, an antibacterial and antifungal agent still used in medicine, and how circumcism on the eight day is optimum because two blood clotting agents – Vitamin K and prothrombin are at their peak then. At the time of Moses, the Egyptians used dung a lot in medicines. (The Israelites were instructed to bury their dung because God said it was filthy.) The Bible had instructions for treating infectious patients, that included washing in running water, quarantining and exposing to sunlight.

The Bible described the Hydrologic Cycle 3,000 years ago: Job 36:27-28 “He draws up the drops of water, which distil as rain to the streams; the clouds pour down their moisture”. Modern science made the discovery in the early 1700’s

Matthew Maury was the first to map major ocean currents for ocean-going vessels after reading Isaiah 16:43 “This is what the LORD says – He who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters” (He did not point out that Isaiah also says that God sits on the circle of the earth)

There is a book by Michael Drosnin, who documents a mysterious code using advanced computers. The original Hebrew text was written without spaces between letters, words or sentences. He did things like take every 5th letter and came up with some interesting things, like Gen 39:20 talks about Joseph in prison, the word Bastillia came up and also the words ‘French Revolution”, “Louis” and the “House of Bourbon” and other famous names came up throughout the Bible: Shakespeare, Mozart and Picasso and “President Kennedy”, “Dallas”, “Watergate” and “Nixon” came up in context. Elsewhere, all clustered together are “Twin”, “towers”, “airplane” “it knocked down” and “twice”. He says there also specific mentions of Hitler and Bin Laden. Isa 53, which talks about the sufferings of Jesus, if you take every 20th letter, says “Jesus (Yeshua) is my name”

He talks about how archaeologists have discovered evidence of Noah’s Ark and of the crossing of the Red Sea.

He talks about how we seek a hero to save us from darkness, and this is the theme of many popular movies, and how we are fascinated by the supernatural.

Then he talks about how Jesus’ life was foretold and how He fulfilled many scriptures.

Then he talked about how Jesus’ death and resurrection became our divine rescue plan, and about His life here on earth and about how since then, Christians have suffered and died for their faith, about the Bible predictions for the end times, recent times miracles, the origin of the song Amazing Grace (he was a slave trader) and his ship was in danger of sinking in a storm and he remembered a verse: Pr 1:24-26 ‘But since you rejected me when I called… I will mock you when calamity overtakes you like a storm… the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will lie in safety and be at ease; without harm’.

Then he mentions famous people who were Christians. I laughed when he said that CS Lewis was converted after disputing with JRR Tolkien – who can argue with him?

You can read about famous sports people who have come to know God on http://www.thegoal.com/.

Then he talks about how to come to know God and how to have a relationship with Him, and how other religions don’t lead you to Him or save you. Then he talks about the Da Vinci Code, which is presented as facts when in fact, it is fiction. Summed up in the words of Laura Miller, “The only thing more powerful than a worldwide conspiracy, it seems, is our desire to believe in one”

Then he gave his testimony and a bit of stuff about how to grow in God, like find a good church, feed your soul and talk to God.

Hey Lord, isn’t this amazing? Job 33:23-30 about You. “yet if there is an angel on his side as a mediator, one out of a thousand, to tell a man what is right for him, to be gracious to him and say, ‘spare him from going down to the pit; I have found a ransom for him’ then his flesh is renewed like a child’s it is restored as in the days of his youth. He prays to God and finds favour with him, he sees God’s face and shouts for joy; he is restored by God to his righteous state. Then he comes to men and says, ‘I sinned and perverted what was right, but I did not get what I deserved. He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light.’ God does all these things to a man – twice, even three times – to turn back his soul from the pit, that the light of life may shine on him.”

Hey Lord, I got this album, I really like it. Jami Smith. I really like the first song, Ps 63. The words are really good. You always cause my heart to laugh, Lord.

Water. Most people don’t drink enough, we need 6-8 glasses a day. This figure does not include other drinks. Our body is composed of 75% water and brain tissue about 85% water. Without sufficient water, we cannot properly aid our bodies in the elimination of wastes. Minor symptoms of dehydration will include headaches, feeling tired and groggy, constipation and dry skin. If left unattended, problems with blood pressure, circulation, kidney function, immune system function and digestive disorders will result. Filtered water is best because tap water contains chlorine and fluorine, both toxic chemicals that build up over time in our bodies. Our need of fluorine is a controversial one. Tap water is also inundated with other chemicals including algaecides, oxidants and pH inhibitors in the treatment process. Distilled water should also be avoided because it has the wrong ionization, pH, polarization and oxidation potentials, and can drain your body of necessary minerals. Finally, drink water at room temperature if possible, as ice-cold water can harm the delicate lining of your stomach. When doing exercises, make sure you are hydrated because the first sign of dehydration is hunger.

75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half the world population.) In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79% and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

Good and bad fats. Wrong fats adds kilos to your waist, clogs your arteries and puts you at risk of developing cancer, but eating too little of the good fat is just as deadly.

Fat or cholesterol is the source material for cell membranes and various hormones. Also, fat is a concentrated form of energy and without fats providing satiety, we would be hungry minutes after finishing a meal.

Saturated fatty acids constitute at least 50% of all cell membranes, play a vital role in the health of our bones, enhance the immune system, protect the liver from alcohol and other toxins and guard against harmful micro-organisms in the digestive tract.

Bad fats to steer clear of are the hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats or trans-fats, which are found in almost every processed food, such as cereals, chips, crackers, doughnuts, French fries.

These liquid oils have been injected with hydrogen gas at a very high temperature to change the structure of the molecules so that it is more stable or solid at room temperatures. It is these trans-fats that lead to clogged arteries and heart disease and because they lower the ‘good’ cholesterol, they indirectly lead to high levels of bad cholesterol.

Also contrary to past popular belief, unsaturated vegetable oils such as sunflower, canola, sesame, corn oils and margarine should be avoided. This is primarily due to their high omega-6 fatty acid content and because on heating, they become trans-fats.

Recent research has revealed that too much omega-6 can result in an increased tendency to form blood clots, inflammation, high blood pressure, irritation of the digestive tract, depressed immune function, sterility, cell proliferation, cancer and weight gain. The good fats are butter, meat, coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil.

Cancer: Cause & Cure by Percy Weston.

He talked about childhood exposure to chemicals, mostly phosphorus. They used it to kill rabbits with, and it was in matches, so when he lit candles, the fumes affected him.

In the gold fields, many got sick and died from poor nutrition and unhygienic conditions.

When a child, his mum gave clean water and sulphur compounds or lemon and Epsom salts or golden syrup and powdered sulphur. She used a packet of Epsom salts with a jug of lemon juice, 2 teaspoons sulphur and half cup of golden syrup. Other kids got diphtheria or flu, but not them.

Tabacco didn’t cause cancer when it was first grown, but changes in the way it is grown and processed now, it does. Phosphorus changes the genetic structure. Natural tobacco, (as the Indians used to smoke it) had high niacin and helped in digestion of meat and corn and was a wonderful vermifuge. It also relieved fatigue and kept you healthy. It cured scurvy, sinus trouble and relieved colds. Tabacco only became to blame for lung cancer after it was grown using super phosphates.

After he started using super phosphate, he noticed the mice on his farm had tumors. His livestock that grazed where he had used super phosphates got sick and cancer and when moved to another paddock, thrived.

Soil that has had super phosphates added is depleted of natural elements: calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium, iron. These curb phosphoric activity. So we need to eat Carrots, spinach, pumpkin (yuk), cabbage, onion, beetroot and fruit grown in an orchard.

Milk, butter, meat and bread are naturally high in phosphate (we need some in our diet)

He took a mixture of sodium bicarbonate, magnesium sulphate, potassium sulphate, iron sulphate and potassium iodide in defined proportions and cured himself of cancer (in his hand, diagnosed as terminal by a doctor) and arthritis. Because it was water soluble, it introduced ions quickly into the blood. Also was germicidal (keep bacteria at bay).

You can buy a “food additive” alkaline-mineral powder similar to this from the health food shop.

He says DDT is responsible for global warming because by photosynthesis, the algae in the ocean grew because of 1.5million tones of DDT poured into it and turned oxygen to carbon dioxide. The oxygen production fell by 85%.

Chlorine is corrosive and lethal and water should be made safe by irridation.

His wife had uterine cancer and he gave her the salts and she was healed and had two kids. Later, she had breast cancer and was cured also. He says skin melanomas are caused by phosphorus being absorbed and passing to capillaries and interacting with ultra violet radiation from the sun.

He did lots of experiments on sheep with phosphorus, salt licks and caused and cured cancer at will.

His eyesight started to go so he tried Vitamin A from the chemist, but it didn’t help because vitamins need to be taken in combination with other complimentary substances (like is found in food).

For his eyes, he took deep-orange fruits, cantaloupe, raw veggies especially carrots, beet greens and cabbage. He also got renewed energy by eating niacin (peanuts, potatoes and rice) and cobalt-charged B12 (milk, fish and lamb liver)

His sheep lick gave nutrition and immunity against disease. He stopped yarding healthy sheep and vaccination. All bacterial diseases were reduced to odd cases and fly strike became rare.

He says cot death was virtually unheard of before super phosphates. (Only in premies and when the mother smoked (phosphorus) ) Before he had to buy supermarket milk, (because his farm was hormone sprayed by the council), he never had a hand-reared calf die, but when he fed supermarket milk, twenty nine of the thirty died. He said from bloat, which paralysed digestive apparatus and then they were unable to belch out gases of fermentation in the rumen. Gas pressure therefore caused the heart and lungs to not function and the cows died quietly.

Oversupply of phosphorus in blood facilitates rapid reproduction of germs (bacteria and viruses) so you need the right minerals to neutralize it. Phosphorus produces arthritis and makes plaque cells that clog arteries grow.

Lemon juice and herbal honey help eliminate phosphorus.

He says having a cold (excreting phlegm and mucous) help the body to eliminate excess phosphorus.

He talks about Dr Joel Wallach who claims that cures were found 50 years or more ago, for lots of things: Ulcers, which are not caused by tension but by the germ helicobacterpylori (and cured with bismuth and tetracycline); cardiomyopathy (cured with selenium), Alzheimer’s disease (cured in its early stages with high does of vit E and low doses of vegetable oil), osteoporosis including kidney stones and low back pain (cured with calcium supplement, and boron), aneurisms (cured with a copper supplement), some types of arthritis (with gelatine), and diabetes (with the trace minerals chromium and vanadium).

Also, PMT (to relieve 85% of the emotional and physical symptoms, take twice the recommended daily dose of calcium, grey hair, facial and body-skin wrinkles, varicose veins, sagging under the arms, legs, belly or breast (take some copper supplement), liver spots or age spots on the face or hands or ‘radical damage’ (take selenium supplement), male-pattern baldness (take a tin supplement); low blood sugar (take chromium and vanadium and so avoid diabetes); losing your senses of taste and smell (take a zinc supplement); learning disabilities, bone problems, anaemia, a craving for sweets or dirt (give a general mineral supplement.)

He also identified 157 different diseases caused by calcium deficiency. Osteoporosis of the joint ends of bones, in 85% of all cases of arthritis, including lumbago and sciatica. Grey hair is the first sign of copper deficiency, and a dose of copper can restore natural colour. Copper controls the health of the body’s elastic fibres, returning it to the diet can banish crows-feet, body wrinkles and sagging.

Some vitamins come mixed with phosphorus to make them soluble. Avoid them. And watch out for overdosing on some vitamins and minerals, for example copper.

A capful of kerosene in a dam prevents mosquitoes from breeding. He made a bug trap by suspending a 75W pearl globe 5cm above a dish containing water and a tablespoon of kero. He trapped moths, aphids, thrip, rutherglen, leafhoppers, mites and spiders.

Then he told some tobacco home truths, which would be very scary if we understood it, but when lit, the cigarette produces some nasty poisons and will kill you.

He says a diet rich in calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium can work wonders for MS.

He talks about the link between trace cadmium residue and arterial deposition of cholesterol.

Look up Dr Hulda Clark on the net. http://www.healthastute.com/. Her book, The Cure for All Cancers.

Dr Clark , besides doing some very interesting studies on cancer, and curing it, talks about a fluke worm found in the human body, which is harmless when in the gut, but the eggs can get into our system through small lesions in the lining of the bowel. Then they can be pulled into the bloodstream and be attracted to weak or damaged organs. (get the book if you want any of all this explained) but, it causes Crohn’s disease, frequent bouts of colitis or irritable bowel syndrome. When the eggs hatch, they produce a powerful growth factor that acts on the surrounding cells so that benign tumors quickly turn malignant.

Isopropyl alcohol accumulates in the liver (from antiseptic, and other body products including toothpaste, mouthwash, body lotion, shampoo, hair spray, mousse, shaving supplies and rubbing alcohols), it gets absorbed into the skin and this is what enables this worm to propagate inside the body. 100% of cancer patients had the worm in their liver and people without cancer always tested negative to having it in their liver.

He also talked about the walnuts he grew, which killed parasites, good stuff but complicated. They kill the liver worm.

Then there’s testimonies. And Percy has also written a book about cancer-fighting foods.

Muscle Cramps A muscle cramp, technically, occurs when your muscle tightens and shortens causing a sudden severe pain. Muscle cramps generally result from overexertion and dehydration. When you don't have enough fluid in your system, it leads to an electrolyte imbalance that causes your muscles to cramp up. Electrolytes are minerals such as sodium, magnesium, calcium and potassium that help the cells to function normally. An imbalance occurs when we have too much or too little of one or more electrolytes in our system. The main electrolytes affecting muscle cramping are potassium, sodium and calcium.Cramps may also occur after inactivity, such as sitting too long in one place without moving a muscle. Sometimes you can even get a cramp when you're just lying in bed, though researchers cannot define a cause. Most often people get cramps in their calves, however, you can also get them in your thighs, feet or just about any muscle. Cramps can be eased by a few simple methods. First, relax the tightened area. You should gently massaging the area that's cramped, whether it's a crick in your calf from over exercising or a spasm in your feet. Second, stretch the muscle out slowly and gently, as long as you don't feel pain. For calf cramps, do a wall stretch. Stand about three feet away from the wall, with your knees straight and your heels on the floor. Lean into the wall, supporting yourself with your hands. You will feel the stretch of your calf muscles. Hold for 60 seconds and repeat three times. You should also make sure to drink plenty of fluids. If you get muscle cramps after exercise, drink water or a sports drink or juice to rehydrate and restore your electrolyte balance. Most of the time water will be sufficient to rehydrate you, however, you are then better off choosing a sports drink containing electrolytes. You may also undo a cramp with ice. Ice is both a pain reliever and an anti-inflammatory. Try massaging the area with ice for no more than ten minutes or until the area is bright red, which indicates that blood cells have returned to heat the cramped muscle. If ice is too uncomfortable, try heat. Heat improves superficial blood circulation and makes muscles more flexible, so some people find that heat is more soothing for muscle cramps than ice. Try a heating pad for 20 minutes at a time or even a warm shower or bath. Make sure to massage the muscle with your hands following ice or heat. Prevent muscle cramps by drinking water. Most of us have experienced muscle cramps at one time or another. Cramps can affect anyone, whether you are a regular exerciser or a regular couch potato. They strike many of us when we are sound asleep - waking us up in the middle of the night with a sharp, piercing pain. But cramps may affect some of us during a baseball game or in the middle of a volleyball match. Resulting from an abnormal muscle contraction, a cramp occurs as the muscle locks into an awkward and sustained spasm because of that contraction. Although the calves are the most likely site for a cramp, any muscle in the body is vulnerable. Medical specialists are not exactly sure what causes cramps, but they do recognize several factors that are associated with them. Muscles that are overworked, injured or exposed to extreme temperatures may be more likely to succumb to a cramp. Other factors include:Dehydration - Make sure you drink plenty of fluids during the day, especially if you exercise. Electrolyte imbalance - Electrolytes can be found in the minerals potassium and sodium, and they carry an electric charge that helps trigger your muscles to contract and relax. Dehydration can disrupt the balance between potassium and sodium which may cause muscle cramps. You need to constantly refurbish your body's fluids in order to keep electrolyte balance and reduce your chances of suffering muscle cramps. Mineral Deficiency - Sometime, too much or too little of certain minerals other than potassium and sodium in your diet can onset a muscle cramp. Two important minerals for your body are calcium and magnesium. Get enough potassium and sodium by eating foods such as bananas and oranges, build up your body's levels of other important minerals, keep your muscles in shape and conditioned with regular exercise, stretch your muscles throughout the day, and wear appropriate clothing - tight clothing that interferes with blood flow can lead to cramps.

I just read a good quote. Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes, that way when you criticise them, you will be a mile away, and you will have their shoes.

How to Experience Revival. Charles G. Finney.

We often take for granted that God’s blessing will come in His own way in his own good time. Scripture makes it plain that blessings follow when certain conditions are met.

Ps 86:6 Wilt thou not revive us again, that thy people may rejoice in thee? KJV

When evil is present in Christians, revival follows because it is evident how far Christians have gone away from God. Should the fireman sleep when the whole city is burning down? Revival is the only way a pastor can regain the confidence of the people.

Christians are to blame for the fact that there are no conversions.

Sermons and ideas do not groom grace. They bring the law and the people die.

We need a spirit of prayer for revival. Prayer is not words – it is a state of the heart.

O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.KJV

LORD, I have heard of your fame;

Revival can only happen when the people are prepared to make the sacrifices and be prepared to offend the impenitent Christians because it will happen and maybe even the one on fire will be driven from the church.

Hos 10:12 Break up the fallow ground. Thoroughly examine our own heart. Look at each sin and deal with it, not a general prayer that does not involve heart felt repentance. Don’t forget sins of omission. Start with ingratitude, not putting God first in your heart, neglecting bible reading, and having careless attitudes in your bible reading and prayers and unbelief of what you are reading. – poor spiritual attitude. Neglecting to pray for your family and praying with wrong attitudes, lack of love for souls, lack on concern for the unsaved.

Do you deny yourself to give to missions? Do you agonize over the unsaved, if not you are a hypocrite, your practice of faith is an insult of Jesus Christ.

Do you put yourself before your family? Do you set an example? Do you neglect your responsibility to watch over fellow Christians and guide them back to the right path? Would you hold your peace if your child fell into a fire? (what about the people going to hell?)

Self-denial is a condition of discipleship. Repent of worldly mindedness – your possessions are not your own. Vanity – do you care more about how you look to other Christians than about how your soul looks to God? You have a problem with envy if you prefer to denigrate someone than to hear them be praised. Critical spirit – slander – includes telling the truth with intent to injure. Don’t show God less respect than you would an earthly judge or king. Lying - and don’t dress mutton as lamb, God will call a spade a spade when you stand before Him. Cheating – do unto others as you would have them to unto you, not what you think is fair. Hypocrisy including in your prayer. Did you confess to sins you intend to continue in?

Robbing God including time, talents and brain space (what do you think about?) Temper. Do you stop other people from serving God? Deal with it. This is breaking up the fallow ground. Apologise to people and pay back what you have stolen with interest. Your lack of joy may be because you have covered an offence. Don’t forget you are preparing yourself for final judgment. Resolve not to walk that way again. You will never have full access to the power of God unless you completely confess all your sins. Let there be a deep work of repentance and full confession, this breaking down before God. If you don’t do this, you are refusing to repent and work with God.

Rom 8:6,27 the Spirit helps us to pray because we don’t know how and He searches our hearts.

We need to ground our faith in prayer because of: promises, prophecies, providence (divine intervention) and the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

In reading about how the Word has affected people’s lives in this book, I am aware of how little we appreciate the value of each promise and how we are jaded and take it all for granted instead of really understanding it for what it is – the Word of God with power.

This is so exciting – when God’s Spirit leads a man to pray for an individual, it’s because God intends to save the individual. Press into God, because He is not going to pour all this stuff on you if you don’t. Take hold of the promises in the Bible and get it into your soul. Nothing good will be done without the influence of the Holy Spirit, so don’t grieve Him. Set form prayers darken the soul and take away the efficiency of prayer. God won’t hear a prayer that is not heart felt and Spirit led. Nothing produces more excitement and opposition that a spirit of prayer. Don’t come as a saint, but come contrite as a sinner pouring out your heart.

James 5:16 The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. KJV

Effectual prayer is not just words because of habit. It’s heart felt seeking God with submission (not indifference which is not the same) Ardent, bold prayers born from intense emotion are the ones God answers. Many pious praying parents have ungodly children because their prayers never rise above parental tenderness. Prevailing prayer is that which is constantly on our minds, like when a mother’s child is sick. We should be distressed to our souls about the fact that people are perishing, as the prophets of old (Jer 4:19, Ps 119:53,136) If you pray in the name of Jesus (and you can’t come before God without it) you can get the same answers to prayer that He would. You must pray in faith. You have never felt Christian love if you have never felt any concern for the millions who are on their way to hell. If you saw a family burning in a house, you would be considered very callous if you did not express deep concern and horror. Why should Christians be thought of as strange if they are distressed that people are going to hell?

Blessings that get delivered without deep humbling puff up and does damage.

Mk 11:24 Whatsoever desire, receive. Ps 103:17,18

You are bound to believe the word and make it the basis of special faith in prayer.

He cited Daniel who quoted Jeremiah about the seventy years and instead of resting in the word, he set his face to the Lord with prayer and supplications, fasting and sackcloth and ashes (Dan 9:3) so that it would come to pass.

Eze 36:37 (valley of bones) Still pray about it. Rom 8:26 Holy Spirit makes intercession for us. You must persevere. Look at Daniel. Lk 18:7 God will give justice.

Jesus rebuked Nicodemus – are you a teacher and do not know these things? Mature Christians not believing word or pray in faith.

Millions of people in hell because Christians are slack. Do you pray earnestly for your children?

What good is the Bible if you don’t believe the promises in it?

One individual with a spirit of prayer will set all the church on fire and have a revival unless they are so dead, they repel him.

When you pray, keep to the point, don’t deliver a sermon or expound your attributes.

Lack of confidence in the leader brings no hope of good.

Latecomers disrupt the flow of the prayer meeting. Singing dampens agonizing intercessory prayer. Meetings should not drag on when the feeling has gone.

Nothing will improve if the church does not have prayer meetings.

90% the leaders fault if the people do not attend prayer meetings because they are so cold. They freeze everyone else. Aim of prayer meetings – conversions.

When Christians become proud of their great revival, it will stop.

Some Christians stand back to watch what will happen, and the revival will go on without them.

Some cause divisions and revival stops.

Revival stops when Christians lose brotherly love. You naturally say ‘brother’ or ‘sister’ if the love is there and stop if they grow cold.

Forget prejudice of other denominations. He disagrees with visiting ministers saying that they do not know where congregation up to and says it interrupts continuity especially several speakers in one meeting .

Preach with fire, not boring.

Revival will stop when the people become mechanical and lose their fervent heart or when exhaustion sets in (burnout) or when Christians stop depending on God and take pride (Mal 2:2)

Revival stops when Christians cease to be humbled and revived. The old work opposes the new and if the new allow a fight, the revival will cease.

The Spirit will depart if the church is introverted – help missions.

Don’t break the Sabbath.

Pr 11:30 winning souls is wise.

Consider the person’s mood and your timing when witnessing.

He says make sure they are sober, but the Salvos used to preach to them and they would become sober. Also, some people are never sober.

Be serious, be respectful.

Keep fundamental salvation central.

He says hone in on their particular sins so they know you mean them. I disagree, although people do justify whatever their sins are.

Be sure they understand they need to repent NOW.

Some people think they have committed the unforgiveable sin. Tell them to seek God anyway and live right so they have less to bear if they get to hell. I disagree. God will not convict someone who has done this sin, so if they have any desire for God, they have not committed it.

Reason church filled with hypocrites – people never repented. Consecrate all to God. – time money, talents, influences.

Cold churches have a form of piety which makes it hard to wake them.

Seek an opportunity, don’t wait for it to fall in your lap because you will lose it. Don’t compromise the truth. Be patient. Don’t split hairs, but keep to the basic salvation message because it speaks to his conscience.

Guard your own spirit – some people just try to make you angry. Don’t say anything to support falsehood. Don’t side with him against Christians. Say he does not have to answer for their sins. He is exhibiting a critical spirit, not concern for honour of God. It is the great commission of every saint to save souls. Study how to do it better. If you are not building up the church, you are not fulfilling your role as a Christian.

The sinner is at a turning point and their destiny is being settled NOW.

Unity is important (Matt 18:19) make sure your motives for wanting a revival are pure, not for numbers or rivalry because this is offensive to God.

He says the prayers of a parent are not answered because the motives are wrong. That a parent, rather than seeing a sinner who deserves to go to hell has compassion and makes excuses. You are not siding with God if you feel sorry for sinners and say they are not to blame for their sins. They believe the sinner is not able to obey God. Sinners are so obstinate, they need the Holy Spirit in order to be convicted and this is how we should pray.

Impenitent church members should be removed. Confession such as a forced ‘I was wrong – sorry’ is not repentance. Broken hearted full confession is required.

Harboring unforgiveness stops revival.

Do not dilute gospel. (Acts 16:30 – what must I do to be saved) change of heart and obedience to Christ is required.

Surprise that a sinner thinks he is serving God just by reading Bible or going to church.

Inspire sinners with ‘believe on the lord Jesus Christ’ Acts 16:31

Repentance is not ‘sorry, I did it’, it is a change of heart, mind, direction. It implies abhorrence of sin. It is not hard to give up things you hate. Find highest pleasure in serving God. He says if a man robs God (time, money, talents) he should make restitution in his will.

Giving life to God is an act of the will, don’t wait for the right feelings. Feelings are involuntary and have no moral character. Obey conscience not feelings.

Don’t comfort sinners (Job 21:34 – you comfort me in vain, since your answers are falsehood). A naked human heart is the worst of sights. Don’t tell people they are not so bad. You deceive and ruin their soul. He is on verge of hell. The doctrine of election (if he has been chosen, he will be saved) is false.

Teaching it loses souls because people stop worrying about salvation and hell. Emotion (feelings) is not principle (voluntary decision determination to fulfill duty and obey God by which a Christian should be governed.)

You have duty to do - don’t wait for feelings. Don’t let new converts get consumed with doctrine because they become zealots and lose concern for salvation of souls.

You are not your own. You belong to God – your time, talents, money, body, soul.

Covetousness is just as evil as adultery. Don’t wait for pain of distress to pass before you pray. Confess and receive forgiveness. If you feel dark, go to Him and confess feeling dark.

Christ is your model, not another Christian. Aim for holiness.

Learn to resist the beginnings of temptation. Don’t go to innocent things with your old friends because the ice is broken and downhill slide is on the way. Be strictly honest. It is a hallmark of Christians. Keep your word.

Good intentions is not actions.

Selfish is not Christian. It is the greatest degree of wickedness and is so far removed from piety and goodness.

Take up your cross daily and follow Christ and deny yourself.

A true convert will continue to obey God despite difficulty and risk.

Christians spend five times more on their pleasures as on missions, then ask God to save the world – hypocrisy and lust!

Millions in hell because of our neglect.

Have we preferred self gratification to obedience? Phil 3:19 their god is their belly and they glory in their shame, who mind earthly things. New Christians must be taught they should be just as holy as they believe ministers should be. Perfection is not absolute perfection but perfection in love and motive.

New Christians should not be told they will grow cold or backslide. SHAME! Always go forward. Pr 4:18 path of just shining light and shines more unto the perfect day.

‘You will not always feel so’ is a lie from Satan.

The very idea of being a Christian is to renounce self and become entirely connected to God.

Don’t choose which commandments you will obey. Christianity is obedience to God, voluntary submission of the soul to His will.

Reasons why people do not get filled with the Holy Spirit. Hypocrisy, frivolity, pride, worldly lusts. Employers are unjust to their employees paying them tight wages while they rake in huge profits. They would not treat their peers like that, because they would be found out.

God knows all and has it written down.

Neglect. Ask for a spirit of prayer and then they do not even pray with their family.

Some people do not want the Spirit unless they can still do as they please. God will never agree to that. If you don’t want to make the sacrifices, don’t pray the prayer.

He commands us to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

You live in disobedience without the presence of God. You are responsible to God and church for the good you might have done.

People will say you are eccentric. You are unlike them: different:- influences, views, motives, Spirit. You must make up your mind to throw yourself to Jesus. And the more you do this, the more you will live out of the world, walking closer to God. The piety of the ministry, though real, is so superficial, in many instances, that the spiritual people of the church feel that ministers do not and cannot sympathise with them.

False eccentricity is horrible! (some people act eccentric because they want people to think they are spiritual). Just be Spirit led.

The evil is one of the worst we are experiencing today. The preaching does not meet the congregation’s needs. It does not feed them. The ministers do not have enough depth of religious experience to know how to search and wake up the Church, help those under temptation, support the weak, and direct the strong.

When a minister has gone with a church as far as his experience in spiritual exercise goes, he stops. Until he has a renewed experience, until his heart has been broken up afresh and starts again in the divine life and Christian experience, he will not help his congregation further. He may preach sound doctrine, yet so can an unconverted minister. But, his preaching will lack that searching pungency, that practical bearing, that unction which alone will reach the spiritually-minded Christian. He also says that it is a pity that the spiritual piety of men becomes lost in intellectual knowledge during seminary training.

If you follow Christ, you will be opposed! 2 Tim 3:12. Even the church will oppose you. You will experience temptations, and blasphemous thoughts, atheism and deeds of wickedness will enter your mind. Gal 5:17 the spirit and the flesh war.

But you will have peace with God. If the church, sinners and the devil oppose you, there will be One with whom you will have peace. Let you who are called to these trials, conflicts and temptations and you who groan, pray, weep and break your hearts, remember this consideration – our peace toward God will flow like a river. You will also have peace of conscience if you are led and tortured by a guilty conscience. If you are filled with the Spirit, you will be useful. Even if you were sick and unable to leave your room and could see no more, you can pray and would be ten times more useful than a hundred lukewarm Christians with no spirituality.

Ps 25:14 secret of the Lord be with those that fear Him.

People without the Spirit doubt the propriety of those with it. (they think that the person is two-faced and putting on a show). They criticize to justify themselves.

God calls us to pray and if we continue to resist, He will stop calling.

2 Peter 1:10-17 Press in and be watchful of your walk with God.

Five things a preacher needs: purity, humility, charity (kept from a critical spirit so that a reputation is safe in their hands) do unto others as you would have them do to you, chastity – never cheapen the gospel, brevity – don’t start in the Spirit and finish in the flesh and so lose some souls.

16.12.10

Well Lord, this book brought me to my knees, how far short I fall. Remember when I had that nasty trial, it was 15 years ago now, and I told You I had had enough and needed a rest from trials (and growing). That was an evil prayer. I was owning myself, I wasn’t trusting You. I thought that time would pass and I would just start moving again, but I didn’t see that for that to happen, I needed to repent of that prayer but You are always with me, righteous, disappointed, holy. The part of me wants to run and hide, but I just keep praying that You will not let me go, don’t let me stick my head in the sand and stay in that place, but heckle me on the issues that stand between me and You. Thanks for Your never ending abundant grace.

Scientists use a technique called radiometric dating to estimate the ages of rocks, fossils, and the earth. Many people have been led to believe that radiometric dating methods have proved the earth to be billions of years old. This has caused many in the church to re-evaluate the biblical creation account, specifically the meaning of the word “day” in Genesis 1. With our focus on one particular form of radiometric dating—carbon dating—we will see that carbon dating strongly supports a young earth. Note that, contrary to a popular misconception, carbon dating is not used to date rocks at millions of years old.

Basics

Before we get into the details of how radiometric dating methods are used, we need to review some preliminary concepts from chemistry. Recall that atoms are the basic building blocks of matter. Atoms are made up of much smaller particles called protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons and neutrons make up the center (nucleus) of the atom, and electrons form shells around the nucleus.

The number of protons in the nucleus of an atom determines the element. For example, all carbon atoms have 6 protons, all atoms of nitrogen have 7 protons, and all oxygen atoms have 8 protons. The number of neutrons in the nucleus can vary in any given type of atom. So, a carbon atom might have six neutrons, or seven, or possibly eight—but it would always have six protons. An “isotope” is any of several different forms of an element, each having different numbers of neutrons. The illustration below shows the three isotopes of carbon.

Some isotopes of certain elements are unstable; they can spontaneously change into another kind of atom in a process called “radioactive decay.” Since this process presently happens at a known measured rate, scientists attempt to use it like a “clock” to tell how long ago a rock or fossil formed. There are two main applications for radiometric dating. One is for potentially dating fossils (once-living things) using carbon-14 dating, and the other is for dating rocks and the age of the earth using uranium, potassium and other radioactive atoms.

The atomic number corresponds to the number of protons in an atom. Atomic mass is a combination of the number of protons and neutrons in the nucleus. (The electrons are so much lighter that they do not contribute significantly to the mass of an atom.)

Carbon-14 Dating

Carbon-14 (14C), also referred to as radiocarbon, is claimed to be a reliable dating method for determining the age of fossils up to 50,000 to 60,000 years. If this claim is true, the biblical account of a young earth (about 6,000 years) is in question, since 14C dates of tens of thousands of years are common.

When a scientist’s interpretation of data does not match the clear meaning of the text in the Bible, we should never reinterpret the Bible. God knows just what He meant to say, and His understanding of science is infallible, whereas ours is fallible. So we should never think it necessary to modify His Word. Genesis 1 defines the days of creation to be literal days (a number with the word “day” always means a normal day in the Old Testament, and the phrase “evening and morning” further defines the days as literal days). Since the Bible is the inspired Word of God, we should examine the validity of the standard interpretation of 14C dating by asking several questions:

1. Is the explanation of the data derived from empirical, observational science, or an interpretation of past events (historical science)?

2. Are there any assumptions involved in the dating method?

3. Are the dates provided by 14C dating consistent with what we observe?

4. Do all scientists accept the 14C dating method as reliable and accurate?

All radiometric dating methods use scientific procedures in the present to interpret what has happened in the past. The procedures used are not necessarily in question. The interpretation of past events is in question. The secular (evolutionary) worldview interprets the universe and world to be billions of years old. The Bible teaches a young universe and earth. Which worldview does science support? Can carbon-14 dating help solve the mystery of which worldview is more accurate?

The use of carbon-14 dating is often misunderstood. Carbon-14 is mostly used to date once-living things (organic material). It cannot be used directly to date rocks; however, it can potentially be used to put time constraints on some inorganic material such as diamonds (diamonds could contain carbon-14). Because of the rapid rate of decay of 14C, it can only give dates in the thousands-of-year range and not millions.

There are three different naturally occurring varieties (isotopes) of carbon: 12C, 13C, and 14C.

Carbon-14 is used for dating because it is unstable (radioactive), whereas 12C and 13C are stable. Radioactive means that 14C will decay (emit radiation) over time and become a different element. During this process (called “beta decay”) a neutron in the 14C atom will be converted into a proton. By losing one neutron and gaining one proton, 14C is changed into nitrogen-14 (14N = 7 protons and 7 neutrons).

If 14C is constantly decaying, will the earth eventually run out of 14C? The answer is no. Carbon-14 is constantly being added to the atmosphere. Cosmic rays from outer space, which contain high levels of energy, bombard the earth’s upper atmosphere. These cosmic rays collide with atoms in the atmosphere and can cause them to come apart. Neutrons that come from these fragmented atoms collide with 14N atoms (the atmosphere is made mostly of nitrogen and oxygen) and convert them into 14C atoms (a proton changes into a neutron).

Once 14C is produced, it combines with oxygen in the atmosphere (12C behaves like 14C and also combines with oxygen) to form carbon dioxide (CO2). Because CO2 gets incorporated into plants (which means the food we eat contains 14C and 12C), all living things should have the same ratio of 14C and 12C in them as in the air we breathe.

How the Carbon-14 Dating Process Works

Once a living thing dies, the dating process begins. As long as an organism is alive it will continue to take in 14C; however, when it dies, it will stop. Since 14C is radioactive (decays into 14N), the amount of 14C in a dead organism gets less and less over time. Therefore, part of the dating process involves measuring the amount of 14C that remains after some has been lost (decayed). Scientists now use a device called an “Accelerator Mass Spectrometer” (AMS) to determine the ratio of 14C to 12C, which increases the assumed accuracy to about 80,000 years. In order to actually do the dating, other things need to be known. Two such things include the following questions:

1. How fast does 14C decay?

2. What was the starting amount of 14C in the creature when it died?

The decay rate of radioactive elements is described in terms of half-life. The half-life of an atom is the amount of time it takes for half of the atoms in a sample to decay. The half-life of 14C is 5,730 years. For example, a jar starting with all 14C atoms at time zero will contain half 14C atoms and half 14N atoms at the end of 5,730 years (one half-life). At the end of 11,460 years (two half-lives) the jar will contain one-quarter 14C atoms and three-quarter 14N atoms.

Since the half-life of 14C is known (how fast it decays), the only part left to determine is the starting amount of 14C in a fossil. If scientists know the original amount of 14C in a creature when it died, they can measure the current amount and then calculate how many half-lives have passed.

Since no one was there to measure the amount of 14C when a creature died, scientists need to find a method to determine how much 14C has decayed. To do this, scientists use the main isotope of carbon, called carbon-12 (12C). Because 12C is a stable isotope of carbon, it will remain constant; however, the amount of 14C will decrease after a creature dies. All living things take in carbon (14C and 12C) from eating and breathing. Therefore, the ratio of 14C to 12C in living creatures will be the same as in the atmosphere. This ratio turns out to be about one 14C atom for every 1 trillion 12C atoms. Scientists can use this ratio to help determine the starting amount of 14C.

When an organism dies, this ratio (1 to 1 trillion) will begin to change. The amount of 12C will remain constant, but the amount of 14C will become less and less. The smaller the ratio, the longer the organism has been dead. The following illustration demonstrates how the age is estimated using this ratio.

Percent 14C Remaining Percent 12C Remaining Ratio Number of Half-Lives Years Dead(Age of Fossil)

100 100 1 to 1T 0 0

50 100 1 to 2T 1 5,730

25 100 1 to 4T 2 11,460

12.5 100 1 to 8T 3 17,190

6.25 100 1 to 16T 4 22,920

3.125 100 1 to 32T 5 28,650

T = Trillion

A Critical Assumption

A critical assumption used in carbon-14 dating has to do with this ratio. It is assumed that the ratio of 14C to 12C in the atmosphere has always been the same as it is today (1 to 1 trillion). If this assumption is true, then the AMS 14C dating method is valid up to about 80,000 years. Beyond this number, the instruments scientists use would not be able to detect enough remaining 14C to be useful in age estimates. This is a critical assumption in the dating process. If this assumption is not true, then the method will give incorrect dates. What could cause this ratio to change? If the production rate of 14C in the atmosphere is not equal to the removal rate (mostly through decay), this ratio will change. In other words, the amount of 14C being produced in the atmosphere must equal the amount being removed to be in a steady state (also called “equilibrium”). If this is not true, the ratio of 14C to 12C is not a constant, which would make knowing the starting amount of 14C in a specimen difficult or impossible to accurately determine.

Dr. Willard Libby, the founder of the carbon-14 dating method, assumed this ratio to be constant. His reasoning was based on a belief in evolution, which assumes the earth must be billions of years old. Assumptions in the scientific community are extremely important. If the starting assumption is false, all the calculations based on that assumption might be correct but still give a wrong conclusion.

In Dr. Libby’s original work, he noted that the atmosphere did not appear to be in equilibrium. This was a troubling idea for Dr. Libby since he believed the world was billions of years old and enough time had passed to achieve equilibrium. Dr. Libby’s calculations showed that if the earth started with no 14C in the atmosphere, it would take up to 30,000 years to build up to a steady state (equilibrium).

If the cosmic radiation has remained at its present intensity for 20,000 or 30,000 years, and if the carbon reservoir has not changed appreciably in this time, then there exists at the present time a complete balance between the rate of disintegration of radiocarbon atoms and the rate of assimilation of new radiocarbon atoms for all material in the life-cycle.

Dr. Libby chose to ignore this discrepancy (nonequilibrium state), and he attributed it to experimental error. However, the discrepancy has turned out to be very real. The ratio of 14C /12C is not constant.

The Specific Production Rate (SPR) of C-14 is known to be 18.8 atoms per gram of total carbon per minute. The Specific Decay Rate (SDR) is known to be only 16.1 disintegrations per gram per minute.

What does this mean? If it takes about 30,000 years to reach equilibrium and 14C is still out of equilibrium, then maybe the earth is not very old.

Magnetic Field of the Earth

Other factors can affect the production rate of 14C in the atmosphere. The earth has a magnetic field around it which helps protect us from harmful radiation from outer space. This magnetic field is decaying (getting weaker). The stronger the field is around the earth, the fewer the number of cosmic rays that are able to reach the atmosphere. This would result in a smaller production of 14C in the atmosphere in earth’s past.

The cause for the long term variation of the C-14 level is not known. The variation is certainly partially the result of a change in the cosmic ray production rate of radiocarbon. The cosmic-ray flux, and hence the production rate of C-14, is a function not only of the solar activity but also of the magnetic dipole moment of the Earth. Although complex, this history of the earth’s magnetic field agrees with Barnes’ basic hypothesis, that the field has always freely decayed.... The field has always been losing energy despite its variations, so it cannot be more than 10,000 years old.

Earth’s magnetic field is fading. Today it is about 10 percent weaker than it was when German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss started keeping tabs on it in 1845, scientists say.

If the production rate of 14C in the atmosphere was less in the past, dates given using the carbon-14 method would incorrectly assume that more 14C had decayed out of a specimen than what has actually occurred. This would result in giving older dates than the true age.

Genesis Flood

What role might the Genesis Flood have played in the amount of carbon? The Flood would have buried large amounts of carbon from living organisms (plant and animal) to form today’s fossil fuels (coal, oil, etc.). The amount of fossil fuels indicates there must have been a vastly larger quantity of vegetation in existence prior to the Flood than exists today. This means that the biosphere just prior to the Flood might have had 500 times more carbon in living organisms than today. This would further dilute the amount of 14C and cause the 14C/12C ratio to be much smaller than today.

If that were the case, and this C-14 were distributed uniformly throughout the biosphere, and the total amount of biosphere C were, for example, 500 times that of today’s world, the resulting C-14/C-12 ratio would be 1/500 of today’s level.

When the Flood is taken into account along with the decay of the magnetic field, it is reasonable to believe that the assumption of equilibrium is a false assumption.

Because of this false assumption, any age estimates using 14C prior to the Flood will give much older dates than the true age. Pre-Flood material would be dated at perhaps ten times the true age.

The RATE Group Findings

In 1997 an eight-year research project was started to investigate the age of the earth. The group was called the RATE group (Radioisotopes and the Age of The Earth). The team of scientists included:

• Larry Vardiman, PhD Atmospheric Science

• Russell Humphreys, PhD Physics

• Eugene Chaffin, PhD Physics

• John Baumgardner, PhD Geophysics

• Donald DeYoung, PhD Physics

• Steven Austin, PhD Geology

• Andrew Snelling, PhD Geology

• Steven Boyd, PhD Hebraic and Cognate Studies

The objective was to gather data commonly ignored or censored by evolutionary standards of dating. The scientists reviewed the assumptions and procedures used in estimating the ages of rocks and fossils. The results of the carbon-14 dating demonstrated serious problems for long geologic ages. For example, a series of fossilized wood samples that conventionally have been dated according to their host strata to be from Tertiary to Permian (40-250 million years old) all yielded significant, detectable levels of carbon-14 that would conventionally equate to only 30,000-45,000 years “ages” for the original trees. Similarly, a survey of the conventional radiocarbon journals resulted in more than forty examples of supposedly ancient organic materials, including limestones, that contained carbon-14, as reported by leading laboratories.

Samples were then taken from ten different coal layers that, according to evolutionists, represent different time periods in the geologic column (Cenozoic, Mesozoic, and Paleozoic). The RATE group obtained these ten coal samples from the U.S. Department of Energy Coal Sample Bank, from samples collected from major coalfields across the United States. The chosen coal samples, which dated millions to hundreds of millions of years old based on standard evolution time estimates, all contained measurable amounts of 14C. In all cases, careful precautions were taken to eliminate any possibility of contamination from other sources. Samples, in all three “time periods”, displayed significant amounts of 14C. This is a significant discovery. Since the half-life of 14C is relatively short (5,730 years), there should be no detectable 14C left after about 100,000 years. The average 14C estimated age for all the layers from these three time periods was approximately 50,000 years. However, using a more realistic pre-Flood 14C /12C ratio reduces that age to about 5,000 years.

These results indicate that the entire geologic column is less than 100,000 years old—and could be much younger. This confirms the Bible and challenges the evolutionary idea of long geologic ages.

Because the lifetime of C-14 is so brief, these AMS [Accelerator Mass Spectrometer] measurements pose an obvious challenge to the standard geological timescale that assigns millions to hundreds of millions of years to this part of the rock layer.

Another noteworthy observation from the RATE group was the amount of 14C found in diamonds. Secular scientists have estimated the ages of diamonds to be millions to billions of years old using other radiometric dating methods. These methods are also based on questionable assumptions and are discussed elsewhere. Because of their hardness, diamonds (the hardest known substance) are extremely resistant to contamination through chemical exchange. Since diamonds are considered to be so old by evolutionary standards, finding any 14C in them would be strong support for a recent creation.

The RATE group analyzed twelve diamond samples for possible carbon-14 content. Similar to the coal results, all twelve diamond samples contained detectable, but lower levels of 14C. These findings are powerful evidence that coal and diamonds cannot be the millions or billions of years old that evolutionists claim. Indeed, these RATE findings of detectable 14C in diamonds have been confirmed independently. Carbon-14 found in fossils at all layers of the geologic column, in coal and in diamonds, is evidence which confirms the biblical timescale of thousands of years and not billions.

Because of C-14’s short half-life, such a finding would argue that carbon and probably the entire physical earth as well must have a recent origin.

Conclusion

All radiometric dating methods are based on assumptions about events that happened in the past. If the assumptions are accepted as true (as is typically done in the evolutionary dating processes), results can be biased toward a desired age. In the reported ages given in textbooks and other journals, these evolutionary assumptions have not been questioned, while results inconsistent with long ages have been censored. When the assumptions were evaluated and shown faulty, the results supported the biblical account of a global Flood and young earth. Christians should not be afraid of radiometric dating methods. Carbon-14 dating is really the friend of Christians, and it supports a young earth.

The RATE scientists are convinced that the popular idea attributed to geologist Charles Lyell from nearly two centuries ago, “The present is the key to the past,” is simply not valid for an earth history of millions or billions of years. An alternative interpretation of the carbon-14 data is that the earth experienced a global flood catastrophe which laid down most of the rock strata and fossils.... Whatever the source of the carbon-14, its presence in nearly every sample tested worldwide is a strong challenge to an ancient age. Carbon-14 data is now firmly on the side of the young-earth view of history.

Hey Lord, there are some great salvation tracts on www.cartoonworks.com. I looked at lots of tracts on google and most were not very good, - they used old texts (hard for people to understand), they centered on condemnation or they were pushing wrong doctrines or radical stuff, no need to pump out hate mail for any groups or push for gun licence – just preach the gospel.

Which Bible verses did the NIV delete?

Please note that these are only WHOLE verses that the NIV deletes. This list does not include the many words and phrases that were completely deleted from the NIV--it deletes over 64,000 words including words like mercyseat, Jehovah, and Godhead. It removes meaningful, well-known Bible words like Calvary, Lucifer, new testament, regeneration, etc. Most of the modern Bibles line up very closely with the NIV--and so does the New World Translation--the Bible of the Jehovah's Witnesses which predates the NIV!

Acts 8:37

Matthew 12:47 -- removed in the footnotes

Matthew 17:21 -- removed "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."

Matthew 18:11 -- removed "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."

Matthew 21:44 -- removed in the footnotes

Matthew 23:14 -- removed "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation."

Mark 7:16 -- removed "If any man have ears to hear, let him hear."

Mark 9:44 -- removed "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

Mark 11:26 -- removed "But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."

Mark 15:28 -- removed "And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors."

Mark 16:9-20 (all 12 verses) -- There is a line separating the last 12 verses of Mark from the main text. Right under the line it says: [The two most reliable early manuscripts do not have Mark 16:9-20] (NIV, 1978 ed.)

Luke 17:36 -- removed "Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left."

Luke 22:44 -- removed in the footnotes

Luke 22:43 -- removed in the footnotes

Luke 23:17 -- removed "(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)"

John 5:4 -- removed "For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had."

John 7:53-8:11 -- removed in the footnotes

Acts 8:37 -- removed It's deletion makes one think that people can be baptized and saved without believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. "And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

Acts 15:34 -- removed "Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still."

Acts 24:7 -- removed "But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,"

Acts 28:29 --removed "And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves."

Romans 16:24 -- removed "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."

I John 5:7 -- Vitally important phrase removed "For there are three that testify:"

Compare the NIV reading with the following Jehovah's Witness reading--

"For there are three witness bearers,"

What are you NIV readers missing? What does the real Bible say?

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

This is one of the GREATEST verses testifying of the trinity. That is why the Jehovah's Witnesses leave it out. They do not believe in the trinity and they do not believe that Jesus is God. Why does the NIV leave it out...? Whole books have been written on the manuscript evidence that supports inclusion of this verse in the Bible. Reader, do you believe in the tri-unity of God? If so, then this deletion should offend you. People are wresting and perverting the scriptures to their own destruction.

He said, I said

One writer said to me, "You [do not] talk about the large section of Mark [referring to Mark 16:9-20] which was INCLUDED with the provision that the earliest reliable manuscripts did not include that section."

I said to him, That "provisional" statement is, at best, casting doubt on the word of God and at worst deleting the information in the footnotes. You say that the NIV says, the MOST RELIABLE manuscripts don't have it. That is as good as saying, "If you accept this rendering you are accepting an inferior, unreliable manuscript." What they DON'T tell you is that those same "reliable" manuscripts DON'T EVEN INCLUDE THE WHOLE BOOK OF REVELATION!!! If the manuscript is so reliable, then why didn't they take out the WHOLE book of Revelation? Mmm? Selective deletion? Why not be true to what they say are the earliest and most reliable manuscripts? I have no respect for this.

This is a fight for the word of God, the product of the Reformation, the Authorized King James Version of 1611.

Techniques of conflict management including bullying and discrimination.

Conflicts can and do occur quickly and often are based on a misunderstanding or insufficient information. Asking questions to alleviate concerns could avert a dispute.

The most important aspect of effective conflict management is to realise that the offended party’s opinion is not the only opinion. Therefore, discussion can dissolve matters before they blow out of proportion. Talking to the person who has offended before taking it further is the polite and sensible way to start. Going over their head immediately is not appropriate or fair.

Also, keeping confidence about the matter is important, since an opinion (which could be seriously lop-sided) once voiced, it gets repeated and distorted and exaggeration is a very prevalent ingredient in any good gossip. It is not congenial for many people in a workplace to be discussing an issue behind supervisor’s backs.

Problems with those in authority can arise quickly, sometimes because the boss is obliged to enforce a policy which is more in keeping with the institution’s policy or budget than the best interests of the personnel. These situations become matters of concern to the staff and a bit of disgruntled talk turns the staff against the boss quickly and there are divisions rather than co-operation. Sometimes the decision may appear to be based on the best interests of the boss, which does happen, but maybe since the staff do not have all the information about why a situation has been allowed to occur, they could misinterpret the motives and become irritated, then any other perceived incident, no matter how small will be viewed through the coloured glasses of resentment and the problem grows. This problem could have been nipped in the bud through proper communication. Unfortunately, sometimes the solution is that the problem was none of your business and no one needs to explain themselves to you and you don’t have the right to judge. Sometimes just doing what you are told and getting on with your job is the best solution to conflict resolution. There is no point is getting stressed about something that you don’t know much about and have no control over.

Bullying can occur for a variety of reasons, and there are different levels of it. Sometimes the bullying is only perceived because the person may have been bullied before and is oversensitive to it. Then when they are asked to do something which is within their job description, they resent it and say they are being oppressed. This person may not realise that they have a problem and can go through a lot of jobs looking for the perfect one or may stir up trouble for the person who has authority over them. This person should alternatively get some counselling. The boss of the supervisor would of course listen to both sides and consider the character of the conflicting parties and whether or not there have been similar complaints against the supervisor, but this can be compounded by the offended party gossiping and getting friends onside to back them up. Perhaps the supervisor only needs to address the tone of voice or choice of words in delivery of orders. There has to be a structure of authority and consequent obedience for the smooth flowing of the facility and some people just don’t like to be told what to do. If the supervisor has a problem with untactful delivery of orders, the staff also need to ride with it a bit and not take everything personally, not everyone is perfect, so there is a need to comply without reading all sorts of attitudes into every discussion.

Conflicts can also occur because someone has a problem at home and arrives at work with an attitude. After that, there is no pleasing the person and they spend the day spreading their attitudes around. If the person is a boss, don’t offer a two litre bottle of prune juice. Just ignore or gently ask if there is something you can do. If you ask if they are OK, it lets them know you were shocked by their behaviour.

This in itself can cause problems because the other staff can accuse you of crawling, because they don’t like the supervisor who is actually a person with problems and faults. If you are nice to everybody, some people will dislike you for that. Be nice to everyone anyway, it’s their problem, not yours.

Discrimination can occur for a variety of reasons. It can start with something simple, for example if someone with homosexual preferences accidently brushes past you, you could feel harassed and perhaps could have judged them because of their preferences.

Racial differences can occur purely because of culture and upbringing perspectives. Something like a hand signal could be offensive to someone brought up in a different culture, maybe a patient could be offended by a thumbs up signal from a care worker because in their country – Greece, this means ‘up yours’.

Obviously, you can read up on cultures of people in your workplace which could avoid some misunderstandings.

Other racial differences could occur because people are prejudiced. Someone may dislike you just because you are from a different culture. The reasons for this could include religious differences or intellectual differences, that is the education level could be much poorer if someone is from a different country. Other reasons for racial differences could be a simple culturual for example some cultures are offended at the way we blow our nose into a handkerchief and put it in our pocket or it could be an offense over garlic smells emitting from someone or body odour or simply because some people think your value as a human is directly proportional to the tone (everyone is a different shade of brown) of your skin.

These problems can be addressed by tolerance and grace. Not everyone will be just like you, that’s what makes the world go around. Workers may feel obliged to tackle an issue themselves because they like to set things right or how they like it. But the supervisor can be utilised in personal objections. For example - body odour or garlic breath - the supervisor should speak to the worker. For a problem with garlic odour and breath, this can be neutralised by eating parsley with the garlic. That way, there is a win/win solution where the worker can continue to savour the healthy food they enjoy without putting off people who are unaccustomed to it. If you are sensitive to bad breath, you can keep mints in your pocket and share periodically. If someone offers you a mint, take it.

All problems can become something big, and some could even go up the system or even to court. It is amazing what people can get offended at. Differences could be documented in a personal diary. Diaries are invaluable reference books. They become acceptable evidence in a court case. Also, the act of documenting can help you clarify the events and are useful for reference at a later date. Workers may not consider personal diary documentation because they document incidents in progress notes and incident forms, but these forms don’t often cover conflicts between staff or small conversations between staff and residents.

Nursing is diverse, so there are lots of areas a conflict can arise from. The relatives of the residents can cause the most problems. Of course they are overzealous in making sure that their loved one is getting the very best care and so they will take nurses to task over lots of issues. Some of these issues are non-existent and the answer is not “Well your relative has dementia, so just ignore anything they have to say”. This may be the case, and relatives are not always aware of how much the dementia has progressed because they don’t spend much time with them. Urinary tract infections and some medications can also cause hallucinations, so the relative could have heard a fictitious story. The care worker may be completely unaware that the resident is upset until their supervisor comes and asks their version of the story. The care worker is not responsible or allowed to liaise with the residents. Care workers may not discuss the health of the residents with the relatives and if any questions are asked the worker must refer them to the Registered Nurse. This can be upsetting for the resident because refusal to speak can be seen as a problem, but for legal reasons and to protect yourself, it is best to keep to the rules and let the Registered Nurse deal with the residents and relatives. You can’t even answer simple questions because the conversation can escalate quickly, then the resident will go to the Registered Nurse and tell them their version of what they thought you said. And their version could start with “The care worker disagrees with the doctor...”

In conclusion, any work environment can have its problems, but with thoughtful management and by staying within the guidelines, the facility can work efficiently and effectively, through consideration and co-operation.

25.10.11

Hey Lord, I found out that if you put some copper coins in the bottom of your vase, your flowers last much longer because it stops the mould from forming around the bottom of the stems which stop the flower from feeding. Yes, you can use copper wire or something.

9.11.11

Hey Lord, there have been things in my life that I didn’t know what to do with, ugly things that have happened and there never seemed to be any resolution to them. Also problems with attitudes, and relationships and things I have needed to deal with (apologise to people) and it all seemed too hard, so I buried them, but they stood between me and You, and I couldn’t live with that. Ps R says to invite You into the situation. I never thought of that, because I invited You into my life and it seemed to me that since I was Your servant, that things would fall into place or be dealt with or something, but then it was too hard. I didn’t realise that I was shutting You out of certain aspects of my life. And when I did realise that, it was difficult because if I submitted it all to You, then I would have to walk a difficult path to recovery. But, there it was all the time, just ask You to come into the situation and then let You do the work. Some things just dissolved when I did that, and others You gave me the strength and made a way. You are so beautiful. Thanks for being amazing. Love, Lucy.

There are lots of problems with the available courses – most have aspects that dabble in eastern religion and don’t let anyone lay hands on you who dabbles in eastern religion. They are connecting to the spirit realm and can pass demons onto you.

27.11.11

Hey Lord, people say to me that they don’t know if You are Lord, or if some other god that someone else worships is Lord, so I say, well, pray ‘to The Sovereign Lord who is God over all, please guide me in all truth” . If that prayer narks them off, they are in deliberate rebellion.

27.12.10

Hey Lord, I have been slack, and You keep saying to me ‘When?’ I didn’t have a time frame. I thought it would just happen later. There are things that need to happen first, that is my esteemed opinion. The ugly truth is that that opinion is an excuse to be lazy and complacent. I didn’t want to put in the hard yards or make the necessary sacrifices. “When? Next week, next year, later, later, when I get a round-to-it, after I die? Time does march on.” You only need one person in a country, who is that person going to be? Me, later? There is a war on, the enemy is marching, people are going to hell in droves and what are we doing? Being nice. Well, I am not even good at that!

3.1.11

Hey Lord, thanks for my beautiful glass cross, I got for only $1 because of a computer error. Thanks for the beautiful weather, everyone else had rain and thunderstorms for Christmas, I spent 3 ½ hrs at the beach. The water has been so lovely. Thanks for all the blessings You always give me. Reading Genesis 1, I noted that the earth was formless and void, not chaotic, like the scientists who were not in fact there at the time, surmise. Reading on, You said you would bless all mankind because of Abraham. He would never have been able to guess how the Lord would come through his line. That was such an underestimated promise. I bet we do that. Indeed we do. We have not taken hold of the word You have given and appropriated it for ourselves. And do You know what, we have not revered You as holy either, we have taken You for granted but look, you let Abraham walk through the country of Canaan, but not Moses. After all the trouble Moses went through. Your holiness is something we are not accounting for. Who would save us if You weren’t there to do that for us? Did we build an altar for You at Bethel? No. Because we did not see You face to face? You are still there. Help me to build you an altar in my heart in the now all the time. You

take my breath away.

Blake Curry, he’s very anointed, look him up on You Tube.

Our prayers would be answered so that it would glorify the Father, we think our prayers should be answered because of us, but it’s for the sake of Jesus, to glorify the Father. That takes the onus off of us, we should reconsider what we pray for. Pray effectually and fervently. You need to know God’s will to pray in faith, not ‘if it be thy will’. Pray in tongues when you don’t know how to pray. The Bible is the will of God, pray the Bible. M 11:23 whosoever say to this mountain. Faith is not silent, it says something. Whosoever is anybody. Not a request to God, but a command to the mountain. Don’t talk to God about your problem, talk to your problem about God. It knows it must obey you, but it wants to know if you know it has to obey you. Shall not doubt in his heart. Your heart is not your mind. You can doubt in your heart but not your mind. If you thought about doubt, that does not mean it won’t happen. Whatever is not of faith is sin. Before you sin, you are tempted. Doubting is a tempt, so don’t accept it. Doubt doesn’t mean to have a thought, it means to stop, hesitate, or back off, it means to take a part and analyse. Move forward into faith and life. You take a thought when you agree with it. Bring it into obedience.

26.3.11

Hey Lord, the guy at church prophesied that You would anoint me in the valley. I hate the valley. I am afraid of the valley. All I heard was ‘valley’. Isn’t Your Presence the overshadowing issue here? I informed you that now is not a good time. Ha ha ha ha ha! You said ‘when is a good time?’ (Never. There is always something happening) I just finished reading ‘The boy who came back from Heaven’. All fairly predictable, wouldn’t You say? That was a bit ruthless, but I have read similar accounts. It is always exciting to read about how the angels are working on our behalf and about people seeing You.

16.12.11

Hey Lord, today Ps Matt said that lots of people want to live in a palace, but they don’t want to kill the giant. Help me not to baulk, because I can do nothing without You.

2 Sam 7:14 Rod of punishment. Pr 29:15 rod of correction. Eze 40:3 measuring rod

Andrew Ironside: Mediocre means half way up a rugged mountain. Praise the Lord, Jesus didn’t stop half way up, He went up the mountain to pray. Come up to the mountain to meet the Lord. Blessed are they that hunger, we never desire so much that we hurt to be in His presence. The way to get hungry is to stop eating junk food. We don’t read the word because we are not hungry, we are busy, how long do you spend playing electronic games? It is a trap! If you don’t spend time with God you are backslidden. Embrace what God arranges for you. Doing things for God is the opposite of entering into what God has done for you.

Mosby’s Fundamentals of Therapeutic Massage. Neuroendcrine substances carry messages that regulate physiologic functions. This includes: mood, attentiveness, arousal, passiveness, vigilance, calmness, ability to sleep, receptivity to touch, response to touch, anger, pessimism, optimism, connectedness, loneliness, depression, desire, hunger, love and commitment. Food that contains additives, synthetic substances, and sometimes excessive sugar can affect mood and behavior; this is very often seen in children, but can also be seen in adults. The body can block out pain by using endorphin and nonendorphin pain-inhibiting peptides which attach to opiate receptors. (they say this validates acupuncture, but I don’t like acupuncture.) the acupuncture points are neurovascular bundles (areas of nerves and vessels), motor points (places where nerves innervate muscles), the focal meeting of superficial nerves in the sagittal plane, superficial nerves or nerve plexuses and muscle-tendon junctions. Acupressure uses the same points (as long as it is for physical purposes like this I don’t have a problem with it, but when they start talking about chakra, I have a problem with it, be careful who you let touch you) It takes about 15 minutes for the effect to be noticed, and should last 48 hours typically after treatment.

Neuroendocrine chemicals influenced by massage are:

Dopamine - (influences motor activity – especially fine motor movement such as hand-writing, conscious selection – focusing attention, mood in terms of inspiration, intuition, joy and enthusiasm, also pleasure states and internal record system. Low dopamine results in opposite – lack of motor control, clumsiness, inability to focus attention and boredom.

Serotonin – allows a person to maintain contextual appropriate behavior. Regulates mood in terms of appropriate emotions, attention to thoughts, and calming, quieting and subdues irritability and regulates drive states so we can suppress the urge to talk, touch and be involved in power struggles. Also involved in satiety – adequate levels reduce the sense of hunger and craving, such as food or sex. It also regulates sleep/awake cycle. Low serotonin - depression, eating disorders, pain disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Epinephrine/Adrenaline and Norepinephrine/Noradrenaline. Mechanisms in the body and functions in the brain. Includes: activation, arousal, alertness and alarm chemicals. If these chemicals are too high, the person can become hyper-vigilant or hyperactive and lack sleep and if it is too low, the person becomes sluggish, drowsy, fatigued. Norepinephrine depletion reduces memory storage. And elevation increases it. Massage regulates and balances these chemicals.

Enkephalins, endorphins and dynorphins are mood lifters that support satiety and modulate pain and massage increases these. And Oxytocin which affects bonding.

Cortisol and other glucocorticoids are stress hormones produced by the adrenal glands during prolonged stress. They suppress immunity, increase sleep disturbances, inappropriate inflammatory responses and increases levels of substance P. Massage reduces levels of cortisol and substance P. Substance P increases transmission of pain impulses but enkephalin blocks the release of substance P.

Growth hormone which promotes cell division and functions of tissue repair and regeneration, so necessary for healing which happens mostly during sleep.

Arm, leg and jaw muscles may be tight during the sympathetic response (the attack posture), whereas postural muscles often tighten with parasympathetic response. Excessive sympathetic output causes most stress-related diseases such as headaches, gastrointestinal difficulties, high blood pressure, anxiety, muscle tension and aches, and sexual dysfunction. Intense emotion, such as fear, rage and anxiety, plays a part in activating the fight-or-flight response. Long term stress triggers the release of cortisone and long term cortisol cause fluid retention, hypertension, muscle weakness, osteoporosis, breakdown of connective tissue, nonproductive inflammation, peptic ulcer, impaired wound healing, vertigo, headache, reduced ability to deal with stress, hypersensitivity, weight gain, nausea, fatigue, and physic disturbances. They see the world as hostile and unsafe. After that, the body starts to wear out, cardiovascular, upper respiratory and gastrointestinal problems develop. Then comes burnout. Those chemicals can be dissipated through venting anger at our family or other drivers or by exercise.

Parasympathetic patterns restore and physical activity is curtailed and digestion and elimination increase. Peace and calmness reign. When we become fatigued, we rest, but if there is an over balance in this system, depression and lethargy result. This can be a result of negative experiences.

Entrainment is the coordination or synchronization of rhythms such as breathing and heart. Massage helps align these and this is more effective if the therapist is focused and centered.

Research shows that memories can only be accessible when the particular body chemistry and function are similar to those of the experience as it first happened. When epinephrine and norepinephrine are released into the bloodstream, passive toughening occurs (increases tolerance to stress). Passive toughening also occurs from repeated exposure to cold shock.

10.12.11

Any Christian can do service for the Lord, but someone who completely dies to self and renounces all thing for the sake of Christ, God will consecrate and give them a powerful anointing. He goes as far as we are willing to go, so if we give Him everything, He will give us everything so that we can give it back to Him. Ethics is an opinionated standard of right and wrong/good and evil (or anything we can justify), and morality is the outworking of righteousness. Ethics and morality not working together is hypocrisy and the opposite of hypocrisy is integrity. Not backing up your words with actions disqualifies integrity. You can have morality without ethics, which is practicing good works with false pretences. People put on a show in public, but have a contrary private life and when alone, think about the desires of the mind – this disqualifies integrity. Doing the right things for the wrong reasons is conceited integrity, superficial, fake and is a false appearance and is manipulative.

Only seek to know God and to honour Him.

Leadership is stewardship, a responsibility and an honour. It is demonstrated by not having an intention to demonstrate it. You are not concerned with your own reputation. Four marks of leadership – integrity, humility, compassion, faith in God.

Aaron and Levi were set apart because they died to self and were fervent for God. We pretend that we are ignorant that God is weeping over His church at the moment.

Phil 2:14,15 Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation in which you shine like stars in the universe. 16 as you hold out the word of life. NIV

Don’t pray for God to fix other people, (manipulative prayer) pray that God works in the situation and that they have an open heart towards to God.

Leadership seminar. Bethel Tabernacle of Praise Port Moresby.

(A Leader’s Greatest Fear – John Ortberg)

Leaders should be people of fear – people should be afraid of them. Leader’s fears: failure, mutiny – you are at the mercy of the people who are supposed to follow you, criticism, shadow mission (the pursuit of worthless things while the world goes to hell). In Esther, people get to choose between shadow missions and true ministry. People make choices, destinies are formed and the world gets changed. Everybody has a choice. King Xerses had no vision or inner strength of character. You can tell that a ministry has become a shadow ministry when the hierarchy are more concerned with the perception of the ministry than the truth. If it is about appeasing or placate or impress the leader, it’s in trouble. Does a leader want engagement (heart and soul and a vision to die for) or compliance. Is our mission to have a successful church with successful people who is Mordacai in your life? Who loves you enough to challenge you honestly about your shadow ministry? When was the last time you prayed for clarity? Esther went to the king and said if I perish, I perish. What is your shadow ministry? Shadow ministry is your ministry hijacked by your ego. It is very hard to fight if you don’t share it with the people around you. What is the shadow ministry of your church? Great shadow ministry is ‘more’. More money, more power, more fame. A shadow ministry is characterized by a chronic sense of dissatisfaction. Whatever your condition, would you let Christ deal with it?

In marriage and with children, some people kill the golden goose. Look after the relationships.

(Dead Leader Running)

We are black belts in the kingdom of God. Tomorrow’s church will become what you are today. You can teach what you know, but you will reproduce what you are. If you want people to be devoted to church or to be committed to marriage, what must we be? We need genuine integrity. You need to look for God’s presence, so you came out better not bitter. When you think about retiring, you’re starting melt-down. When you overwork, your body runs out of serotonin and you use adrenaline, so you physically burn out. 1 Peter 4:19. Let those who suffer according to the will of God. If you don’t handle it correctly, you lose your capacity. Sometimes the road to success and the road to nervous breakdown are the same road. You need to re-prioritize everything in your life. Sometimes God will use radical pain to wake you up in this. When the plane is going down, we are open to God. Know what fills and what drains your tank, so you don’t have dead leader running. Overtaxed schedule drains you. If you are too busy to have some pleasure activities, that’s suicide. If you take away the things that are valuable to your wife, your marriage will really suffer. If the Holy Spirit left the church, would the church continue the same? Family is part of your ministry, not a separate thing. Take them with you. Sometimes you need to concentrate more on family, that’s part of your ministry. If your family collapses, you ministry will die. You need rest. We don’t mess up because we are evil, but because we are frail. Schedule in your rest into your calendar before you make your appointments. Day starts with rest. Read Genesis: the day starts with evening (bedtime). Deep sleep is 11pm to 3am. If you go to bed late, you sleep light and you wake up tired. If you don’t have someone to off load your stuff on all the time, you off load on everyone or the closest one. (like a lightning rod that grounds and stops everything getting fried) Discipline your daily devotions. God required of the kings that they write and read the word daily. Jer 17:16 As for me, I will not hurry away from being a shepherd of the Lord. God’s word holds you back from making permanent decisions over a temporary situation. Only book God has promised to inspire – the Bible. God will give you wisdom when you read it. If you just read to get a sermon, and not to seek God, you will lose relationship with God and you life will not line with and you won’t have the strength to do the work of God. If you are having an affair, you can’t be in ministry. If you had the Olympic torch and you ran in record time but the flame went out, you didn’t achieve. If you arrive in record time without the flame, no one will say ‘gee, you ran well’. You have to run and protect the flame. Some people are running fast with an extinguished wick. Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden. Draw near with confidence to the throne of grace.

(Exceptional Leadership- TD Jakes)

People are motivated by excitement. So if we look bored, defeated and unmotivated in the house of God, it will not draw people. The best leadership book is the Bible. You can get it out of the Scriptures, or from people who got it out of the Scriptures. Any information that is not Bible-based is not effective for what God wants you to do. Let’s take it to the next level. Exodus 17:5 The Lord said to Moses to go before the people and take the rod and God will stand before him. Moses held the rod of God in his hand, while Joshua fought Amalek. Moses spoke to God face to face. If you are not motivated yourself, you cannot take the people there. God put you in your situation and in your circumstances because He knew that was where He needed you there to glorify Him in your ministry. Are you gonna be an original or a cheap copy of a great original? You can learn from other people, but it’s your own personal encounter with God and your own flavor that will bring success. Nobody is attracted to ordinary or average. Leaders are controversial. Followers fit in. Don’t be weird for the sake of it, but to function independently enough to know God enough that you don’t allow people’s opinions to change what you need to do. He is fully persuaded that the power and presence of God is on your side. You need confidence in your gifting. You have to know that God has given you what you need to accomplish for what you have to do. Don’t despise small beginnings – they are so you can practice your gift. You are learning in isolation before God exposes you to the public. You must not compare yourself to what other people are doing. Builders build a foundation first. Many times churches get to a certain level, then they stop. If your leadership doesn’t change as you grow, you will asphyxiate the church. You will stop it. When God wanted to change a nation, He didn’t talk to a nation, He talked to one person. The change begins with you. Unless you accept the responsibility that God sent you into the situation, it won’t change. Leaders don’t cry, they accept responsibility. If you are not making changes, you are not leading. Make a list and start with the things you are complaining about. All the problems with the church is job security. If everything is going good, God wouldn’t need you. Three moves Moses made: Moses starts with the people. Daddy ministry. Family ministry. If you are involved, they will come, if you are not involved, they won’t come. You can’t commission people to go for you, you must go yourself. What is your ministry about? How is your church different from the others? God doesn’t send you to duplicate what is already done. If you are willing to be different, you must bring those around you that God has sent and train them. Jesus trained 12 men, He didn’t send them to college, they touched Him. Putting wrong people in ministry is an injustice to them and to you. They may be great somewhere else. So don’t criticize people who don’t do it the same way you do. They are on another course from you. If you talk about people, you are making statements you will have to retrace because you are inexperienced. Recognize what you don’t know – other people, other cultures. If you don’t leave yourself room to be wrong, you can’t grow. If you criticize, other people will follow with narrow-mindedness and bigotry. And they will dress like you and act like you and your church will be boring. God sent you to affect everybody, not to make clones. People in trouble need trouble, and if you help them, they will help you. Have a no more empty seats policy. God doesn’t give you a seat. He has someone to fill it. Challenge in leadership: learning when to lay the next course to go up a level. Better preaching doesn’t draw more people. Moses knew it was time to make a shift because the people started murmuring.. Step two: no longer become involved in murmuring. Don’t stay up at night crying about why they don’t love you. People are supposed to talk about you, people talk about people they know. Their chiding is not the centre of your ministry. Complainers control some ministries. Do what God told you to do. This is a stage of separation, if you don’t get over it, you will stop growing. Go before the people. Wean them from their dependence on you so they can have their own experience with God. They should follow Jesus, not the pastor. Leaders draw validation from people needing them. So it’s hard for the leader too. If you have never had a challenge in your ministry, you have a dead church. Samuel had to be weaned from his mother before he went into ministry. Don’t speak to the congregation if you haven’t spoken to the leaders. Share your vision with them first otherwise you will get a massive betrayal. God does things in order. Oil flows down in order. Pastors should not be led by boards about what they preach. We need God-inspired leaders. People need to know that pastor is someone who has heard from God, not a puppet. Good leadership anticipates problems. Good leadership develops solutions for those problems. Not ‘o God, don’t let anything go wrong’. We are in a fight. You got saved because God anticipated problems. While the devil was trying to trick Eve, God already had a solution to get us out of this mess – Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. People will blow it. What plan do you have for the problems you will face? Nice and wonderful dinners don’t promote growth. You are not running for office. Develop a cage for the wolf that is lurking around the corner. Any problem you don’t conquer will conquer you. God told Moses to go on before the people. God is getting ready to do something awesome in your life!!!! He doesn’t build chicken coops. Too much has been invested in you. God is investing positive people in you. He is laying a foundation. Get ready, get ready, get ready. Third one: Go above the people. You cannot fight today’s problem with yesterday’s weapon. Give us this day our daily bread. New levels bring new devils. Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. You are the watchman on the wall. You have to see the transition. Inflexible leadership gets devoured because they don’t change when they need to. Korah didn’t want change. If you always do what you’ve always done, you will always be where you’ve always been. Delegate. Role shift. David tried to fight when he was old and he nearly died, because his sons should have had the ministry of fighting the giants. You have to reproduce yourself so you can move on. Moses goes up the mountain and he has a new ministry. He held his hands up when they fought. Find Joshua in your church, most ministers are afraid of Joshuas because they have strong leadership skills. They are committed to you. They will not split your church if you have room for them to have some reign within your structure. To him much is given, much is required. You are a limited resource, and if you have to be in everything, you can’t grow. You need support ministries to hold your hands up. Weariness destroys ministers. If you don’t enjoy your ministry, your ability diminishes greatly. If you have a talent to undergird, get beside your pastor. Moses had his hands up, Joshua had his hands on and Aaron and Hur had their hands under. Jesus chose Peter, James and John to go up the mountain with him. In the valley, Joshua had his hands on the Amalekite’s neck. You cannot bear this alone. What you can’t stand, God will call you to. If you can’t stand music that’s out of tune, you are called to the music ministry. That’s why it bothers you – because you are called to do it. Until you take that frustrating feeling to God, your church will not grow.

(Hope of the World – Bill Hayes)

Do you need to get saved again so that you have a new testimony? Doesn’t God ever rock your world and turn you inside out? Is there only ever one exciting God story to tell? People desperately need to hear the message of salvation. God accepts people from every nation. Differentness does not mean someone stuffed up God’s message. There’s a revelation that becomes a turnstone and a profound message. If your life in a position that God can speak to you in a profound way? Or do you just window shop and paste it into your deal? What will you do with your life that will last forever? Material possessions or an eternal legacy? Someone as valuable as you should leave something more valuable than what will be burned up when Christ comes back. Lay up treasures in Heaven, not on earth. Did you find out what your spiritual gift is? Are we evangelistic to the point of spilling our blood? Are we devoted to prayer and unity and servitude? Is your church a reasonable number and you don’t have a heart for the prayer? Or does your church have wrong attitudes such as race colour? Is your church known in your community as one that helps the poor? Or did you find a groove that you could milk? What does God say about your church?

(It How leaders can get It and keep It – Craig Groeschel)

The local church is the hope of the world. What are you doing that you need to stop doing? What is God trying to show you through your greatest limitation? Failure is not an option – it’s a necessity. Failure is often the first step into seeing God. God is doing something in you that others can’t see. If you can do it, it doesn’t take faith. Are you a full time pastor and a part time follower of Christ? Is it your ministry or His kingdom? It is time to let God break you again.

(Just courage charging the darkness – Gary Haugen)

Religion never justifies racism or brutality. Are Jesus and I really interested in the same thing? God is passionate for the world and for justice. God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son. How can people who are suffering believe in God? The answer is us. And He does not have another plan. We are the light of the world. We need to show Christ to them. Injustice is abuse of power. Anyone stronger takes from the weak – God sees the tears of the oppressed. Have we neglected the weightier matters of the law? Justice, mercy and faith (Matt 23:23). Is justice our thing – is God our thing? How do we lead when it seems hopeless or hard? We re-focus on who God is and what He wants to do. If God is passionate about it, He is also responsible about it. Jesus fed 5,000. What do you have? Will you give it to God? Follow God beyond your comfort zone and you will experience God and His power and His wisdom and His love. Mother Theresa couldn’t imagine doing her work for more than 30 minutes without prayer. Is it fear or cleverness that keeps you in your comfort zone? Is your devotional time something you do so you don’t feel bad that you didn’t do it? Choose not to be safe, choose deep spiritual health, choose to pursue excellence, choose joy. Christianity is not normally associated with excellence. Christians should not be viewed as soft-headed, lukewarm, powerless, mediocre, daggy. Do we love well? The first thing to disappear when spiritual health disappears is laughter.

Favourite prayer: bring it on God. Show up for the day, get your orders and execute in obedience.

Hey Lord, this is what I found out from my massage studies: if you breathe lazy (like 90% of the population do) from your chest instead of your diaphragm (your chest should not move, only your tummy which does look stupid) it squishes your nerve under your collar bone and you can get arm problems from that. Like – tingling and numbness down your arm (symptom of heart failure)

4.3.12

Hey Lord, I am reading this book: Shifting Shadows of Supernatural Power by Julia Loren, Bill Johnson and Mahesh Chavda.

Real prophets are challenged by mediocrity. They have an inner compulsion to fight darkness. They become light. Mediocrity is the shadow land of faith to them. In the original showdown between God and the prophets of Baal, Elijah was not just fighting with occult powers. He was challenging the space between dark and light; the gray areas; the shifting shadows of loyalty which people can inhabit when they do not reside in the light, close to the beacon of faithfulness. Prophets live in the light, walk in the light, and bask in the light of all that God is to His people. They live with upturned faces to a God who perpetually lifts up the light of His countenance over His people. God smiles, and we look to Him, and our faces are radiant. We have a cell in our DNA which loves to worship, we exist to magnify – if not God then something else. Real prophets adore intimacy with God. They love His presence. It is their place of refuge, a fortress, a secret place of worship and communion. They access a place of blinding, coruscating light. From that place, they embark on their mission to magnify the Lord in the world of men. The chief role of a prophet is to make God radiant to everyone they meet. Prophets live in the centre of light, not on the edge of darkness. Their influence and anointing stretches out to touch the blackness and invade it, but they themselves have their heart safely locked away in the inviolate place of God’s affection. Everyone must come to the light and abide there. Too many Christians live in the shadows of intimacy and are therefore not overwhelmed by God. They are in control of their passion instead of being abandoned to it. Intimacy provokes confidence which releases faith to stand in God’s presence and see Him as big as he is. God is looking for a people who will make Him bigger. Our intimacy with God intimidates the enemy. It also offends Christians living in a controlled, passionless relationship with the Lord. Fundamentalists are usually no fun and mainly mental in their approach to God. The Father smiles, He laughs, He has a huge sense of humour. He laughs at His enemies. Boldness comes from the heart of God. Prophets relish the battle. Elijah ridiculed the enemy. The church at large has too much respect for the devil and not enough admiration for the Lord. Shadow-land Christians seldom turn up for the fight. ‘I believe, help my unbelief’ is the cry of someone walking towards the light, not away from it. Elijah was not just attacking the darkness, he was challenging the grey areas in the people around him. God’s people must walk in fullness, not measure. The enemy has come to kill, steal and destroy. A church living in less than what the Father has decreed is being robbed, their initiative killed, and their capacity to overcome destroyed. The power of the cross condemns us to victory. Elijah contended from a place of overcoming, not to get the victory. (That was the forward written by Graham Cooke – by far the best part of the book) The rest of the book talks about supernatural happenings, a lot of Christians think it’s all evil, and a lot of non Christians think it’s all God-birthed. A lot of Christians get involved in occultish practices because they can’t tell the difference. We need to stop compromising and being lazy and start walking in the power and authority, demonstrating God’s love and healing to the world. Few Christians are willing to take to the streets and speak the truth. Even fewer have developed their relationship with Christ far enough to rise to a level of faith and anointing that will shake others out of the shadows of deception. We can no longer afford to be complacent as the shadows of the end of the age close in around us. We must step out of the shadows of complacency and stand in the brilliance of God’s amazing love. And having stood soaking in His light, understanding His ways, we realize that the power of the Cross condemns us to victory in whatever action He calls us into, in whatever sphere of influence He gives us.

They talk about Christians who are foolish prophets – they get the anointing and run ahead of God and it becomes a soul pursuit for their own glorification, not for God, and they end up making a mess and becoming a bad witness or a tool for the devil. The devil can come alongside you and push you too far when you are walking the right way. People can become involved in the visions and run ahead of God or make the way open for false visions. We can get a spiritual delusion because our confidence becomes in our ability to hear from God, instead of God’s ability to overcome our sinful hearts to speak to us.

People are looking for a sign or a word. This can push pastors towards giving words all the time to satisfy the people instead of seeking God’s face for what He wants to do and the pastor can gradually become a diviner with evil origin of power. Sometimes a prophet with an authentic revelatory gift crosses the line into divination, but that does not mean that they will stay there. God will pull them into line if they are really seeking Him. If the people are looking for soulish readings, that’s a problem. A foolish prophet may become a great prophet, but a false prophet and those operating from occult power sources need to be dealt with before they cause confusion or division and harm the church.

We must be spiritually clean before we can walk in God’s power. To the degree we are not clean, the enemy has access to us.

We must be absolutely convinced that our God is God. To the degree we doubt the omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of our God over their god, we give the enemy access to our lives.

We are to set the rules of engagement, not them. God’s prophets never allowed the enemy to define the boundaries.

When we walk in His ways, God will move Heaven and earth on our behalf. Expect miracles to happen!

We must love others with the love that made Jesus known as the friend of sinners. Love is the match that kindles the flame, and people are quickly drawn to it.

We must know the authority of the power we have in God. Our God created all beings, even those that subsequently fell. By definition, the created can never be greater than that which created it.

We must understand that it is the Holy Spirit who has all the Father’s power at His disposal. The Holy Spirit flowing through us changes those around us.

We must cultivate and live in the atmosphere of God’s presence. Others will feel it when they are near us, and their spirits will long for it.

We must know the limitations of the powers of darkness, which are revealed in the ten plagues of Egypt.

We need to realize that to the degree the Spirit of God flows through us, others’ abilities to use their demonically empowered gifts are impaired.

Some people are afraid of supernatural things and reject them as demonic or parlor tricks or the works of charlatans. Be careful before you condemn something that you do not understand and haven’t prayed about. If it is not from God, there will be no exalting Jesus and no desire to more deeply seek the presence of God. Instead of opposing, it is better to let God deal with it, because as the scriptures say, if it is not from God, it will fail and if it is from God, who are we to oppose it? Sometimes, people are just jealous.

Do we really want the power or the presence of God in our lives?

Moses said if God didn’t go with him, he wouldn’t go, because how would they be distinguished from the people of the earth if He did not go with them? People did not note that Peter and John had been intellectual, they noted that they had been with Jesus.

What is our motive for wanting to see supernatural power?

How willing are we to embrace the cross?

Are we so captivated by God’s love that it radiates from our presence?

What must I do to get more of God’s presence?

Signs and wonders do not validate you or your ministry.

If you focus on wanting power, you will end up in trouble. (error) when your entire focus is on a continuing revelation of Jesus Christ crucified, power will follow.

If you don’t seek the truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness, God will send a strong delusion. (2 Thess 2:9-12)

It’s not truth unless it’s in the Word of God. John 8:32.

If you are dabbling in the occult, - spiritualism, taking mind-expanding drugs, contact with mediums and tarot cards, flirting with the devil, playing with white magic and casting spells, attempting astral travel, meditation, willingly praying for spirit guides to come and lead you or praying to angels, you need to renounce it in the name of Jesus. If you are seeking other people to get a word from God for you, stop that too. Seek God yourself and read your Bible. If you are not basking in His light, you are being impacted by the shadows. If you are not abandoning yourself to Christ daily, who are you giving yourself to?

Don’t pray – ‘more power’, but pray – ‘more of You Lord’. God desires intimate relationship with you, not overt manipulation.

The resurrection power of the cross is available to us all – salvation, healing, deliverance, and empowerment for ministry. The power of the Cross, the power of the redemptive blood of Jesus, is the greatest recurring sign and wonder in the earth today. Matt 16:24,25 – take up your cross daily. Taking up our cross is a total denying of our demanding, self-seeking ego and accepting the sentence of death to self which the cross imposes on us where we lay down our lives for Christ. If we do not do this totally, there is room for the devil and the uncrucified ego will respond to seductive flatteries of deceiving demons. Pride is the main area in our character which satan targets and flattery is the main lever he uses to gain entrance.

Gal 2:20 – it is no longer I.

Most people who believe that God heals don’t pray for others to get healed because they won’t embrace suffering and continual humbling.

Ministry is not about a power kick, it’s about entering into the heart of God and feeling His love for the people. Love of God and obedience to the call. A heart for God, a love for the poor, broken and sick and the desire to stand to pray for hours.

Jesus had no supernatural capabilities of His own, he came to earth as a man and was completely dependent on the Holy Spirit. If He worked as God on earth, we would be impressed, but not compelled or able to follow.

A tragedy of today is that great truths have been reduced to doctrines instead of remaining experiences. Being seated with Christ in heavenly places is not a comfort to the ailing, but a revelation of something that is available in Christ to all who believe. The weakest of us should be like David and the strongest like God.

Revivals usually last 2-4 years, but they should be the norm. We should go from glory to glory.

Let it be done according to His word.

Demons don’t like it when we fast. We know that many diseases, ailments and mental problems and chronic behavioral problems are demonically based. Fasting shows a desperation and determination to touch the Lord, who alone is the source of all healing. Demons cannot stay around too long when a person fasts because it welcomes the Holy Spirit and repels the unholy. If you want a healing ministry, you need to fast. It is the equivalent of an athlete working out at a gym. Isaiah 58 lists 12 specific benefits of the fast: revelation, healing and wholeness, righteousness, the presence of the shekinah glory of God, answered prayers, continual guidance, contentment, refreshing, strength, work that endures, raising up of future generations, restoration. He called us to fast and pray and then to obey.

Next day,

Problems occur when the colon cannot completely eliminate waste. Over time, these undesirable substances can collect in the colon and become trapped there. And the amounts that accumulate can be substantial—estimates state that some colons may have up to 12 pounds of what many would classify as “toxic waste.” So exactly what impact does this have on a person’s overall health? Dr. Anthony Bassler: “Every physician should realize that the intestinal toxemia (poisons) are the most important primary and contributing causes of many disorders and diseases of the human body.” Problems associated with these poisons include bloating, weight gain, lower back pain, and, not surprisingly, issues with digestion. The individual might also have acne breakouts, feel fatigued, or have frequent headaches. The best way to address these issues and the underlying cause is to remove excess waste from the colon, which is precisely what colon cleansers are designed to do. These products will not only reduce overall toxin levels in the body, but will also allow the colon to absorb nutrients more efficiently in the future. Make an effort to include more fibre in your diet, including whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Eat food in its whole and unprocessed form whenever possible. Consume fresh juice and raw fruits and vegetables as opposed to cooked ones. Try to up your water intake. Reduce the amount of red meat you consume. www.consumerhealthanswers.com

What is the correct way of eating fruits? It means not eating fruits after your meals. Fruit should be eaten on an empty stomach. If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss & other life activities. Fruit is the most important food. Let's say you eat two slices of bread & then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so. In the meantime the whole meal rots & ferments & turns to acid.

The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach & digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals!

You have heard people complaining—every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat Durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc—actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food & produces gas & hence you will bloat! Greying hair, balding, nervous outburst,& dark circles under the eyes, all these may not happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach. There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange & lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness & normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice, drink only fresh fruit juice, not from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits & drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days & you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

Kiwi: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, Vitamin E & Fibre. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange. An apple a day keeps the doctor away?

Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke. Strawberry: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

Orange : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

Watermelon: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene—the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

Guava & Papaya: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content.. Guava is also rich in fibre, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can u believe this??

It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal.

However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down & be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.

*Very soon, this will turn into fats & lead to cancer.*

It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Well, Lord, did You see what I found out? I started drinking Goji tea, you get the dried Goji berries from the supermarket, and put three in a cup, pour on boiling water and some honey and it tastes like any herbal tea. I drink it cold. Goji gets rid of all your fluid retention and makes you lose your appetite, and I think also improves your metabolism and it’s one of those super healthy up there with lots of antioxidant foods. I’ve lost my sweet tooth and my carb cravings.

12.3.12

Hey Lord, here I am, gone around the mountain again. With my ugly attitudes, keeping me from Your presence. I pray ‘bring me to my knees’ but on the inside I am holding on to the last prayer – ‘no more trials, I have had enough’. Haven’t I been in this place of limbo for so many years, instead of walking in Your power and authority, showing signs and wonders and seeing people get saved, healed and delivered? Want to hear my excuse? I don’t have one. The girl in the mirror is (close enough to) 50. Wasted years. You treasure our prayers, but mine have been lazy, un-heart-felt. Many times, I’ve decided to get my act together and do the right thing instead of condemning other people who say they are Christians but can’t be bothered praying, but involve their time and resources into social and look good-smell good. (Not a house You are building). But, good intentions are worth zilch. I have knowledge and all that does is make me more accountable. But my resolutions only last as a fleeting breath. It’s because I think I am strong and can do it in my own strength. All I need to do is lay my life at Your feet once again, and let You do a work in me. The Holy Spirit gives the will and the way to do Your work. I wish I could offer you something that I did. Anyway, once again, please fill me with Your Spirit and increase my love and desire for You, and give me a revelation of Your grace and beauty and the blood and the cross, so I can move in Your power and show people how amazing You are. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks. Thanks.

20.3.12

Hey Lord, at church on Sunday Ken Duncan spoke, he’s very good, not afraid of Your gospel. He did mention that if someone died with two million dollars in their account, God would be asking them about it. That resulted in the predictable eruption of applaud. Very humble of a rich man to notice and to be submitted to it, but the people who clapped – they have other talents which they bury. It’s easy to condemn a wealthy man for not giving all his money, but what have we wasted? The list is, unfortunately, endless. In this country, we are rich, but we can’t see it, we need to get out more. If we don’t use what we have, God won’t give us more. We could give a lot more money than we do, we have time and talents, but don’t see them as valuable in Your kingdom. We could pray a lot more too – the pretty crowns in Heaven are going to the intercessors, rather than the ones that You outworked Your anointing on. What do we dedicate our brain space to? We should tread carefully in condemning others, because we are doing nothing but condemning ourselves, because we are guilty and by the measure we use, it will be measured to us. We forget Your holiness and Your righteousness and we take You for granted and get jaded and those are sins too. You are in Heaven and we are on earth – let our words be few. And while you are there, Lord, thanks for the blood. And thanks that you remember that we are but dust and thanks for Your continual grace because I can’t live without it.

24.3.12

Hey Lord, this is the year, isn’t it. I spend so much time thinking about how my life has been and wondering how You can use me because of the mistakes I have made. I think about the sacrifices to come and thank You that I didn’t have to make them earlier. Maybe I should have, but have just been too slack? (I think that’s the one) I think about the lost opportunities of past days and the sufferings that could have been avoided if I had prayed more, not only in my life but in those of the people I love and the ones You let me touch. I think about the choices people make for their lives (mostly choose death for every aspect – bad choice, buy now pay later.) I think about rights – how we feel ripped off at the things that happen to us because of the bad choices we made, but somehow, we still expect to be blessed with love, laughter, health and wealth. We can’t think about how much our choices are hurting You, because it’s too much to take. It’s too hard to face. And the worst thing about it, is that You don’t let us abdicate our responsibilities. Nothing can be swept away under a rug or blamed on those we love. Walking more uprightly than our fellow man makes us look righteous in our own eyes, but you won’t be comparing us with them, You will say ‘what about this?’, knowing that we are unable to answer.

And the sacrifices to come: - well my life belongs to You anyway, but until now, haven’t I still made my own decisions and though tried to walk in Your ways, still lived comfortably, lazily, not really handing my whole life over to You?

I am going to Uluru today. I will be amazed at the rock and not wonder how it got there. I will be offended at the dreamtime stories. And once again, You will take my breath away. I look at the MacDonnell ranges here in Alice Springs and it’s all sedimentary rock, (600 k) at a 75 degree angle – evidence of the flood. You can stand at the bottom of a cliff and think how amazing it is and feel afraid of the power that shifted it there. – nothing to You, though.

28.3.12

Hey Lord, today I was talking to my friend about how it gets more difficult to memorise things as you get older (like scripture verses) and she said that when we are children, we see a picture in our minds when we see a word, but we don’t do that as adults, so that’s why it’s harder to remember. So I am going to try that, thanks for that and bless her, Lord.

20.4.12

Hey Lord, I am lost without You. I don’t want to live without walking in that place in Your shekinah glory, bring me to the valley where I will meet with You. When I was in the valley all those years ago, I hated it, but when it was over, I was so exhausted and really overwhelmed especially by the attacks of the Christians who said I was a bad person because I was in the valley, but when I am not there, You are still near, but I am not as aware of it and I miss it. My life is nothing without You. Your grace still holds me, even when I am too lazy or busy to pray and You still speak to my sinful heart. Certainly, I did not walk in the essence of purity when I was close to You – I have nothing but Your grace. I always have Your word – the word of a gentleman of honour. I was reading about Gideon today, he was telling You that he was a nothing from nowhere. And You said ‘go in the strength you have’ and that You were with him, You didn’t say ‘go in the strength you will get at the moment of need because I will be with you’. He didn’t feel like a mighty man, but it’s never us who is mighty, it’s You. It’s all just You.
